3 ways I’ve saved clients time and money this week: 1. Getting a mortgage Someone came to us after several painful phone calls to get a mortgage direct with their bank. 30 minutes on the phone with us, 3 emails exchanged and they had applied for the best interest rate (saving £800 interest a year) available within 1 working day. 2. Guidance to open a cash ISA After reviewing a clients’ finances it made sense for them to use a cash ISA this year. Quick email with guidance to find best interest rates, 15 minutes opening an account, £400 gained in interest plus £270 saved in tax. Win, win. 3. Selling shares before the budget A client was using company share sales to fund their deposit on a house purchase. We made a call to discuss. They made the sales with an £80,000 capital gain in the shares, 4% saved from sales pre-budget (£3,200). We love helping clients save time ⏰ and money 💰

Another reason why Brokers work within your best interest. After 12 month check-in with our client I advised the client to give their lender a call to get a lower rate than their already 6.24% p.a. The bank's retention representative advised that 6.22% was the "best they could do". We thought otherwise and advised the client to call their bluff. We then lodged a discharge form on behalf of the client and they were called the very next day and were offered 6.04% on a loan that was 80% of their property value and 2 years' worth of annual fees waived.. On a $500,000 mortgage, our client is saving a further 0.16%, $800 per annum in interest alone and received a further $800 for staying with their lender. Brokers are incentivised to keep you as their client. They are true relationship managers and genuinely care how much you're paying to the bank. Would your banker do this for you? Have they simply said "there is no further movement on the rate" or "this is the best we can do". Call your bank or better yet.. call their bluff. #Knowhentoholdem #Knowwhentorun
