06.20.2024: 'Forrest Allen Ward's Words,' a daily column ... intended to encourage and support. "Ever been on a Roman Road? Amazingly, these roads brought their world together and have lasted centuries. Why? Well, it was people who were committed to excellence, no matter their formal education. When all the elements of the road were brought into one place, some people knew exactly what to do with those elements. I bet there were no consultants, lofty bosses, or inadequate rulers barking orders to everyone. Once the direction of the road was established, what was left to do was build the road exactly how it was designed. There is something to be said for a workforce that knew exactly what to do until the road was completed the way it was designed. Never discourage the people who are masters at what they do. Those with degrees from some 'higher-education establishment' may not be as committed to the road, but to the place where they got that degree. When people of excellence complete their work, it usually stays for decades ... or even centuries. An end note: Here in America, we have what we call freeways. Houston (Texas' biggest city) has 10 freeways that come into downtown. The first one built was the Gulf Freeway (from Houston to Galveston). The first money allocated for its construction was made law in 1948. Since then that freeway has been under constant construction. It is not so much a freeway for our use, but it is a 'jobs program.' Be aware that Roman Roads were made as perfectly as possible and some of them are still being used. Hire only people who do incredibly excellent work." - Forrest Allen Ward #ussuccesscenter #newpossibilities #leadership #significance #success #executiveleadership #leadershippresence #results #powerconnector #authenticleadership #network #globalcollaboration #leadership #workplaceculture #corporateculture #leadershipdevelopment #salescoaching #salesdevelopment

In a recent The New York Times article highlighting the impact of #OpportunityZone, our co-founder Max Grelier shared that we are in the midst of an incredible project in a Qualified Opportunity Zone: redeveloping a 140-acre former mall into a dynamic affinity district. The #OpportunityZone initiative has truly accelerated growth in Huntsville. We've seen an unprecedented surge in construction, with 24,000 multifamily units added in just three years across the city. At RCP, we're proud to be part of Huntsville's growth story. The Opportunity Zone program has been a catalyst, accelerated by the tax incentive and attracting early on, allowing us to bring ambitious projects to life that contribute to our city's vibrant future. A great example of how policy can shape our urban landscapes. While the effectiveness of Opportunity Zones varies across the country, Huntsville's story demonstrates their potential to catalyze growth in the right conditions. What are your thoughts on Opportunity Zones? Have you seen similar impacts in your area? https://lnkd.in/e4hDYn5y

We are thrilled to witness the transformative journey ahead as Buc-ee's officially breaks ground in Gallaway, TN! Fayette County Mayor Skip Taylor described the project as the "Disneyland of Fayette County," highlighting its enormous potential to reshape the area. With an $82 million investment, this 74,000-square-foot travel center will bring 240+ jobs with an average wage of $45,000 and serve as a cornerstone for regional growth. As our recent analysis reveals, Buc-ee’s and the neighboring Winstead mixed-use development will create a $5 billion economic impact over 20 years, boosting jobs, revenue, and opportunities for the community. As Buc-ee’s co-founder Arch Aplin said, their mission is simple yet impactful, "Our job at Buc-ee's is to stop the people coming up and down that interstate and stop them right here in Gallaway, Tennessee." This is just the beginning of incredible growth and prosperity for West Tennessee, and the YA team is honored to support these pivotal developments. ‘Growth’ is at the heart of the new Government’s economic and political strategy. Its ability, or otherwise, to grow the economy will go someway to determining the future size and shape of our public services and the general state of the UK balance sheet. Whilst there has been such a relentless focus on the term ‘#growth’, Danny Herbert (#Brand and #Marketing strategy expert) questions why so many 2020s businesses seem to lack urgency and focus regarding selling. What are your thoughts? Chris Smith CATALYST Dan Barlow #businessdevelopment #sales #economy #westmidlands #midlands #coventry #birmingham #wolverhampton
