MAGICAL HALLS OF FAME I ummed and ahhd about writing this but no lesser person than Russ Shaw CBE encouraged me to go for it. So here we are… Having just returned from one of the most magical places on earth, the Taj Mahal in India, I have been formally inducted into another magical place. Both halls of fame - one a marble testament to conjugal devotion. The other a formal recognition for equity and innovation in tech. ComputerWeekly.com have over the last eight years awarded me among the most influential tech leaders in the UK. This week, they honoured the 2024 Top 50 women in tech (congratulations Sheridan Ash MBE Mary McKenna, MBE Naomi Timperley FRSA Liz Williams MBE and so many others!). And I am proud to announce that they inducted me into their prestigious Hall of Fame - which recognises lifetime achievements in technology. Joining the likes of Martha Lane Fox, Sherry Coutu, Maggie Philbin, and others, I am beyond honoured that my contributions have been recognised in this way, and sincerely congratulate my peers in this year’s cohort: Suki Fuller Melissa Di Donato Lopa Patel MBE Emma McGuigan Rioch Edwards-Brown MBE 🌟 For anyone who wants to know a bit about my tech journey - here are some of the highlights I am personally most proud of. Thank you Bryan Glick, all the judges and wonderful Computer Weekly for all the championship and advocacy - it means the world. 🖤 A piece of journalism - that helped trigger a landmark data sharing agreement through the Bichard Enquiry, and subsequent introduction of first CRB then DBS checks 🖤 A piece of hardware - the BBC Micro:bit which is now being used by millions of children in more than 100 countries 🖤 A piece of software - the Royal digital social enterprise platform, taken from launch to adoption in more than 100 countries in less than two years 🖤 A piece of stardust - co-hosting special series on AI and on women in tech for The Tech Leaders Podcast 🖤 A piece of data - chairing techUK’s groundbreaking Local Digital Capital Index working group to help catalyse growth and equity opportunities across the UK 🖤 A piece of influencing - helping found, power, champion and/or support BT’s involvement with National Emergencies Trust (helping 13m during the pandemic); Small Business Britain, Digital Boost; TeenTech; The Female Lead; FastFutures; Aleto Foundation; FutureDotNow and Girls Talk It’s been quite a journey and I am still fortunate enough to be on it through my Boards, strategic advisory and executive coaching. My company Inglenook Global Ltd is helping advise businesses in #tech, #AI, growth and storytelling. And this little Inglenook is now in a Hall of Fame. Magical. <<image shows Kerensa in front of the Taj Mahal a few days ago, a trip made possible due to Knight Frank LLP, where she serves on the Group Executive Board>>
