Thrilled to Announce! 📣 Joining the R-Map Advisory Board! ️🌍 I'm excited to share that I've been appointed to the Advisory Board of the R-Map project EU, a groundbreaking EU initiative exploring the impact of remote work arrangements (RWAs) on regional disparities across Europe! What is R-Map? This 3-year project will delve into the effects of RWAs on individuals, communities, economies, the environment, and even spatial dynamics. The goal? To develop a comprehensive framework for assessing the full impact of remote work on various aspects of European life. Why am I involved? As a seasoned digital nomad with over 10 years of experience working remotely, I believe passionately in the potential of RWAs to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas. I'm honored to contribute my insights and experience to this crucial project. R-Map - A Pan-European Effort This multi-national research endeavor brings together 12 partners from 7 countries. Our research will focus on case studies across diverse European regions, including Greece, the UK, Italy, Turkey, Netherlands-Germany, and Austria-Switzerland. Stay tuned! This conference brings together demand response experts focused on OpenADR as a critical industry standard. Simply put, model, simulate and assess. Be on the lookout for hidden dependencies that can lead to cascading failure(s). Consider, safety, security and privacy as table-stakes. Your use cases must speak to a diverse variety of stakeholders. You must ensure your stories identify how humans can benefit and/or be harmed by the choices they make. Embrace transparency and objective metrics (aka verifiable facts). Informed "consumers" can drive radical change and need to be part of the strategy (cheaper insurance rates?) Then imagine a world where we could eliminate all UIE's (Unforeseen Impactful Event)...mathematically like real science.
