Curious about the side effects of Ozempic? 🔍 Here are 5 key points you need to know about the link between Ozempic, Mounjaro & Thyroid Cancer. 🔍Ozempic contains semaglutide, used primarily for diabetes management and weight loss. 🔍The European Medicines Agency has expressed concerns about a possible connection between semaglutide and an increased risk of thyroid cancer. 🔍Ongoing investigations are required to explore this potential link further. 🔍Some studies suggest that GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide may increase thyroid cancer risk, though conclusive evidence is still pending. 🔍It’s essential for patients using Ozempic to be aware of the potential side effects and participate in regular monitoring. Stay informed and proactive about your treatment choices! 🦋 #ThyroidAwareness #DiabetesCare #HealthEducation

Preliminary Clinical Trial Results Show ‘Dramatic and Rapid’ Regression of Glioblastoma after Next Generation CAR-T Therapy via Massachusetts General Hospital: https://lnkd.in/encGTcwR. "A collaborative project to bring the promise of cell therapy to patients with a deadly form of brain cancer has shown dramatic results among the first patients to receive the novel treatment. In a paper published today in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers from the Mass General Cancer Center, a member of the Mass General Brigham healthcare system, shared the results for the first three patient cases from a phase 1 clinical trial evaluating a new approach to CAR-T therapy for glioblastoma (GBM). The trial, known as INCIPIENT, is designed to evaluate the safety of CARv3-TEAM-E T cells in patients with recurrent GBM. Just days after a single treatment, patients experienced dramatic reductions in their tumors, with one patient achieving near-complete tumor regression. In time, the researchers observed tumor progression in these patients, but given the strategy’s promising preliminary results, the team will pursue strategies to extend the durability of response." #GlioblastomaTreatment #AntiAging #AMMG #AgeManagementMedicine #CMEEducation #ContinuingMedicalEducation #CMEConferences

Roberto Pili, MD, associate dean for cancer research and integrative oncology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, is the principal investigator on a new five-year, $1.8 million grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that focuses on a rare form of kidney cancer found most commonly in children. “We are trying to learn more about the biology of this relatively rare tumor called translocation renal cell carcinoma (tRCC) found primarily in children or young adults. This type of tumor is aggressive, and the standard therapies utilized for the most common types of kidney cancer do not work,” says Pili, who is a professor in the Department of Medicine and chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology. » Read our story to find out how Pili’s collaborative work with other UB schools is deepening knowledge about tRCC: http://ms.spr.ly/6042mkWiK Medical miracles are years and sometimes decades in the making. When Congress supports The National Institutes of Health with strong, steady funding growth, medical research is strengthened — and critical advances can improve health outcomes. #StartsInAcademicMedicine #UBuffalo #KidneyCancer #TranslocationRenalCellCarcinoma #tRCC #NIH #PediatricKidneyCancer #NCI #Oncology #CancerResearch #FundNIH

"Advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment have led to an increase in the number of patients with cancer admitted to the ICU. These developments underscore the transformation of critically ill patients with cancer, once deemed terminal, into a regular facet of intensivists’ caseloads, emphasizing the need for closer collaboration between intensivists and oncologists to formulate evidence-based therapeutic strategies. Thus, intensivists must grasp the nuances of various cancers, their complications, and patient support requirements to deliver tailored, high-quality care."
