Nighttime Wonders: Observing Turtles Nesting on the Conflict Islands There’s something truly magical about watching these ancient creatures come ashore under the cover of night. Every year, on the beautiful Conflict Islands, we are privileged to witness sea turtles nesting and laying their eggs—a ritual that has been taking place for centuries. It’s an awe-inspiring experience, and one that reminds us of the incredible role these turtles play in our oceans. Why Do Turtles Nest on Different Islands? Sea turtles are known to return to the same beaches where they were born to lay their eggs. This behavior, called natal homing, is an extraordinary feat of navigation that still baffles scientists. Here on the Conflict Islands, we are fortunate to be part of this vital ecosystem where turtles come to nest each year during turtle season. #ConflictIslands #SeaTurtleConservation #TurtleWatching #CICI #EcoTourism #ProtectOurOceans #TurtleNesting #WildlifeConservation #SustainableTravel #MarineLife #SaveTheTurtles #TurtleSeason #ConservationHeroes

Greenland has come up with an innovative way to prevent tourism from harming its natural assets and culture. The idea is to classify sensitive areas as either green, yellow or red zones, Polar Journal reports. Green zones would be completely open to tour operators, while red ones would be off-limits. Yellow zones would be somewhere in between. You could call it a traffic-light system for tourists. What do you think of the proposal? Could it work in your country? You can read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/dPfr7JM3 Polar Journal AG #tourism #beautyspots #naturalassets #arctic #arcticregion #arctictoday #greenland #visitors #masstourism #nature #wildlife #cruises #sustainability #sustainabletourism #tours #touroperators #nogozone Photo: Valleys cut by glaciers of the Greenland Ice Sheet along the mountains of Greenland (Jim Urquhart / Reuters).
