But here's what I'd request: Go take a look at ProPublica, and make that a regular part of your news diet. Also, consider something like https://ground.news and their Blindspot feature. Read up on your local and state level politics. Care about understanding the world around you. Understand how cognitive biases actually work. Put habits in place to counter those cognitive biases. The best thing you can do to honor veterans is to be an informed citizen.
