Command and control styles of leadership are dead. Empathetic leaders are winning, and I love it. Here's why: To be an effective leader, you need to care about the people you lead! Empathy has always been a critical skill for leaders, but it is taking on a new level of meaning and priority, especially now in our changing world of hybrid working. Empathetic leadership can help leaders connect with employees in a way that drives business success. There are many benefits to empathetic leadership. Here are my favourites: 1. It helps leaders understand what their employees are thinking and feeling—and that understanding helps them find ways to motivate and inspire them. 2. It helps create a healthy company culture. This is especially important in today's workplace, where people have changed the way they work and socialize with each other. 3. A great leader knows how to build trust with their team members by being empathetic and open-minded. 4. Empathy helps build strong team bonds by increasing employee trust within a company because people feel supported by their leaders who care about them as individuals instead of just treating them as cogs in a machine or numbers on a spreadsheet. Remember: People may not remember what you say, but they will "always" remember how you made them feel.
