This week's Chinese lesson is an intermediate reading one on the song 《夜空中最亮的星》('The Brightest Star in the Night Sky') by 逃跑计划 (Escape Plan). Songs are an excellent way of improving one's skills in a new language, for many reasons, including: - Introduce obscure vocabulary, I learned the names of bird species in Chinese through a Mandopop song - Aids grammar development with full sentence structures (although this might not always be the case with people learning English) - Provides a lesson in word stress - Introduces the subtleties of intonation and vowel sounds #对外汉语 #learnchinese #languagelearning #languagelearningmatters #musicmatters
