Fogging with Scleral Lenses can come from 2 main sources. Anterior surface fogging is usually due to poor quality tear film, and the associated meibomian gland dysfunction/Ocular Surface Disease needs to be addressed. Posterior surface fogging is usually due to the peripheral haptics of the Scleral Lens not aligning properly with the ocular surface. In this case, the lens periphery needs to be modified to land appropriately, usually requiring steepining of the periphery.
