A friend recently reminded me that the first step in creating something is to just do it, fail, and try again. With that in mind, I did one of the hardest things I ever have to do, say enough is enough and stop the months of endless tinkering and toiling, starts and stops, messy node trees and clean slates. So, here's a coloring reel. Admittedly, it's too long. It doesn't look the same on this site as it did on my monitor. There's no sizzle or spice. And about a hundred other things bug me. But I don't care about those nitpick-y thoughts right now. The ARRI stock footage gave me a lot of room to work, and I'm proud of the end result (for now). Through this sequence, I tested my fluency of Davinci Resolve, my understanding of the fundamentals of color science, and my own creativity when looking at a blank canvas of an image. And compared to my first tottering steps into color grading a while back, I can say without a doubt that I'm proud of my progress and can't wait to learn more!
