These partnerships with local NGOs, CSOs, and grassroots groups allow us to address a wider range of social issues faced by Ghanaians. From providing educational opportunities in rural areas to expanding access to healthcare in underserved communities, our TASOG partners are the backbone of our work. Early morning in #Leeds for #MottMacDonald ’s breakfast roundtable at #UKREiiF, where we tackled the big questions with public and private sector colleagues around how we deliver more #inclusiveinfrastructure. Some great nuggets: 💡 When writing business cases, we need to think about social considerations beyond the strategic case so social outcomes are a meaningful factor in decision making. If the Green Book is falling short – can we fill this gap? 💡 There is a need for overarching frameworks to get us into a legacy mindset. Going ‘deep, local and long’ as someone put it, will help us prevent social interventions being affected by project timelines and political will. 💡 In public private partnerships, parties need to be on the same page when it comes to core values from the outset, and some thinking done around incentives for developing more inclusive projects as well. 💡 To get more voices to be heard in planning the built environment, we need to build capacity. A great example mentioned from the Places for London Sustainable Development Framework, where they built capacity in teenage girls to become design critics – which has meant better project outcomes, but also greater stewardship over their own community and interest in built environment careers. Win! Thanks so much to everyone who joined! 👍 Sandeep Shingadia FCILT Sarah Shaw | Mary Kerr | Damian Allen I Lucy Atlee Ginny Leonard Richard Fagg | Andy Sloan | Guy Currey | Clare Wildfire FCIBSE FIMA FRSA Andy Gibbins Neil Harvey Phil Redman I Luke Strickland Victoria Starkey Kimberley Green Caron Dunlop Kerry Scott James Beard Cassandra Stewart Mott MacDonald
How can we deliver more #inclusiveoutcomes for infrastructure and our communities? Delighted by the enthusiastic response at our #UKREiiF discussion. The biggest take-away: there is latent value in the #SocialValue system that can only be unlocked with local authority and private sector working together to identify and action the biggest place-based opportunities to deliver social outcomes. Thank you for your time, passion and commitment to take this forwards, Sandeep Shingadia FCILT I Sarah Shaw | Mary Kerr | Damian Allen I Lucy Atlee I Ginny Leonard I Richard Fagg | Andrew Sloan | Guy Currey | Sarah Marshall I Andy Gibbins I Neil Harvey I Phil Redman I Luke Strickland I Victoria Starkey I Kimberley Green I Caron Dunlop I Kerry Scott | James Beard I Cassandra Stewart Mott MacDonald

Although developing countries host a multitude of NGOs, actual development progress remains elusive, largely owing to these organizations' limited comprehension of the existing local systems. By leveraging Organization Capacity Development tools, Save the Children empowers fledgling NGOs to undertake a thorough capacity analysis, thereby facilitating the establishment of systemic and pragmatic objectives. This, in turn, fuels organizational growth and ensures the quality of their programming. Ultimately, OCA renders genuine development an achievable reality.

As many of you probably know, #volunteering is a big part of my life. A couple of years ago, I wrote a poem about the importance of the "why" behind this critical practice. Take a look: -- Why Volunteer? The world has a need, Your time looks for it, Where can it go, Who can benefit? Homeless and hungry, There are many ways, People want hope, You can most days. Want creates trash, Tons and tons of it, Reuse halts growth, But we must commit. Death and destruction, People want a light, Support those in need, Some efforts seem right. Ukraine and Uganda, Landfills and Waste, Volunteer effort helps, Make time, act in haste. Consider a cause, What help can you render, Go to that place, Join in and surrender. Volunteering is fun, The rewards abound, It means you care, And your purpose is sound. -- I've attached a video from ENGin, the organization I currently volunteer with. We can all make an impact, even without leaving our home office or computer. It's possible! #Volunteer #GlobalImpact #ENGin

SDG 2: ZERO HUNGER “Imagine a world where no one goes to bed hungry. Together, we can turn this dream into reality” Join the fight for a hunger-free world. Together, we can achieve SDG 2: Zero Hunger. In a world overflowing with bounty, a cruel paradox persists. Sustainable Development Goal 2, isn’t merely about filling bellies, it is about weaving a tapestry of human wellbeing, where every thread represents a life free from of hunger. By default, one of the Fellowship sessions is dedicated to training the participants on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals brought forth by the United Nations where each Goal represents an aspiration for a more just and equitable world by 2030. Here at the Youth Development Fellowship program, we believe everyone has a role to play in ending hunger, we offer programs that equip people with the skills and knowledge they need to build a better future for themselves and their communities. The application portals are still open; join us at the Youth Development Fellowship Program, scheduled from 29 July to 1 August in Yaounde. If you would like more information get to our team through the link below. https://gaicam.ngo/yodef/ #SDG2 #ZeroHunger #GlobalGoals #EndHunger

1moAn absolute great job in the right direction. If vocational training, especially technical aspects can be incorporated, that will help alot.
