Support Your Children, Their Mental And Emotional Well-Being. Maryum was able to shift her inability to set good limits and good boundaries In her own words: My biggest shift. Self-worth/Acceptance and judgment. I believed that I didn't care too much what people thought, but I wasn't living it (was still overanalyzing, apologizing, feeling guilty afterward, ruminating, and doubting myself) before. I asked my husband if he had noticed any change(s) since the start if the course. He said 'You don't take any shit anymore'... and 'You're firmer with the kids'. AlhamduLILLAH. I am not explaining/justifying my parenting decisions to my kids as much. I am much more confident in setting boundaries, not waffling on and confusing everybody... clear and firm. I don't know if it is just that, or if my kids/husband can sense the vibe is different/I have shifted in some way, and not putting up with/tolerating the same as before. AlhamduLILLAH. Imagine you know how to discipline your children and set clear limits that are healthy for you. Imagine you were able to stand up for yourself and your mood was better? Become more consciously aware of your thoughts, feelings, and interactions with others so you are not triggered and are more calm and confident Feel connected and proud of showing up better in all areas of your life, including motherhood. I am an engaged imperfect parent passionate to learn more. To raise our children to embrace their vulnerabilities and imperfections and know their strengths. You and only you are responsible for doing the work needed to get what you want. How you speak to yourself in a triggered reaction is one of the biggest shifts in dealing with the trigger and allowing a calmer response. This requires conscious awareness that we are triggered and stop, breathe, be more mindful, and take a break. Reparenting your inner voice is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Because calming your brain during conflict is essential. We need to completely let go of the thinking and judging mind from only seeing things from our perception. Instead of attacking or recoiling, or sending a nasty reaction and later justifying our reactions, we can learn to stay present and participate in regulating our nervous system, the awareness I am feeling my thoughts right now. Reparenting yourself to speak to yourself differently. Will be posting examples this week. What helps you when you are triggered? 7-week Thriving Muslim child starts 22nd April 50% off Thriving Muslim child and mother. A 7-weeks dive into transforming and up-leveling your parenting>>> Reduce your anxiety, show up with less overwhelm pursue your goals and dreams, and FINALLY show up as a present mother or woman and know how to support your child. This live support course will help you to shift from anger and anxious self to a calmer you. The 24-hour sale ends today, Saturday, 20th April. Starts 22nd April >>> https://lnkd.in/gMbJKQEz

"Hold on to Your Kids: Why Parents Need to Matter More Than Peers" by Gordon Neufeld and Gabor Maté delves into the crucial role parents play in the development and well-being of their children, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong, nurturing connection. The book argues that in modern society, children are increasingly looking to their peers for guidance, norms, and values, a shift that can have detrimental effects on their development and mental health. Here are key lessons from the book: 1. The Importance of Parental Connection 2. The Problem with Peer Orientation 3. Cultivate a Strong Parent-Child Attachment 4. Understand Developmental Needs 5. The Role of Play in Attachment 6. Counteract the Culture of Peer Orientation 7. Navigating the Challenges of Technology 8. The Importance of Community 9. Educational Implications 10. Healing Broken Bonds "Hold on to Your Kids" serves as a guide for parents to understand the critical importance of their role in their children's lives, especially in the face of the challenges posed by a peer-oriented culture. It encourages parents to actively engage in building and maintaining a strong, nurturing bond with their children, setting the foundation for their children’s healthy development and emotional well-being. I thought about posting this on LinkedIn, and I have decided that, no matter what faith you follow, Lysa’s deep insights on forgiveness ,from her own life experience, can be veey helpful to anyone in this network. This is one of the best teachings on why we must choose to forgive. With so many people facing traumas from different circumstances, this provides a different perspective on what it means to forgive, and she speaks with tenderness and some humor too! Here are some insights I took from it: 1) There is a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. Forgiveness sets us free from allowing the pain inflicted to continue to hurt us. We must forgive others; however, reconciliation isn't necessary and sometimes not recommended. 2) Don't try to minimize the impact or trauma someone endured. Sometimes, to move on, they just need someone acknowledging how unfair, unjust, and terrible the things they endured were. 3) Forgiveness is both an act and a process, and the process slowly helps us deal with the impact of what has happened to us. "Why is it that after forgiving someone, we may remember things that have been done to us, which will trigger a new wave of grief? Wasn't my forgiveness sincere? If we dealt with the impact of everything done to us at once, it would have crushed and destroyed us. In God's mercy, he sends it in small packages to help us heal from it." 4) This explains why we shouldn't pay back people with evil. Instead, we should overcome evil with good. I wouldn't be where I am if I hadn't chosen forgiveness. It truly set me free. If you are someone who has experienced trauma or know someone who has, "Forgiving What You Can't Forget" by Lysa TerKeurst is a must-watch video. Be free. Peace within. 🙏🏼 #trauma #forgiveness #betterhumansbetterworld #encouragement

Word of the Day Accumulate the treasures that remain Monday, July 29, 2024 Sometimes we hear or read about people who have a mental disorder that causes them to accumulate things in their homes. They keep large quantities of things that they don’t even need and consider this normal. They often justify themselves by saying that perhaps one day they will be useful for something. The reality is that many people, whether or not they have this disorder, feel more secure when all their needs are met in abundance. Having many possessions gives them peace. But, children of God, we must be careful. We must not place our hope in earthly riches. Our greatest wealth, the treasures that we need to accumulate, are the eternal ones, those in heaven. "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:19-21 Store up treasures in heaven by living for God, seeking His will, and giving importance to what is important to Him. The most important thing to God is that everyone be saved, that they receive the forgiveness of their sins, and that they draw closer to Him. Therefore, the best way to store up treasures in heaven is to share the message of the gospel with everyone around us. Examine your heart today to see what treasures you are storing up. Find ways this day to show God's love to others. Start storing up treasures that will last forever. https://lnkd.in/dcrKtAki
