Only as a reminder how important ocean science is for today and of course as well for tomorrow

I think understanding Ocean Science is more crucial in todays day and age, given the fact how ecosystems are being destroyed and damaged and people are still dumping trash and oil spills are still happening which is quite sad. We need to act forward.

Everytime when I get an update from the UN Ocean Decade, I realise how little we know about the oceans, the beauty, and the importance of safeguarding it. I am fascinated by the role of the Blue Economy in all of this and how we are contributing to the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and jobs while protecting it at the same time. #Fugro, #nextgeneration, #blueeconomy, #sdg14, #coastalResilience,

🌊 Ocean Decade White Papers at the Ocean Decade Conference 🌍 In 2023, the #Vision2030 Working Groups began work to develop a set of White Papers that address each #OceanDecade challenge. After extensive work and an inclusive public review process, these documents were presented at the UN Ocean Decade Conference. These documents outline what is needed to fulfill the objectives of each Challenge by the end of the #OceanDecade, including priority datasets, gaps in science and strategic measures. Working Group 4’s challenge was to develop a vision for the Decade to contribute to a “Sustainable and equitable ocean economy”. The group was co-chaired by Peter Haugan and Andrew Rhodes Espinoza, who have been supported by the Sustainable Development Reform Hub to develop this paper and support this goal.
