I don't understand the point of comparing those who are for and those against Climate Change. It is becoming an ideological and propagandistic clash, instead of a technological (what can we do) and scientific (the most efficient strategies) approach to Environmental Protection, which is a science and not an ideology: it is also a great objective of common interest, to be declined in accordance with the characteristics of the different levels of development of different countries, with particular reference to Africa, which is at the same time a great opportunity and a great risk. https://lnkd.in/dPrAMFH7
The Horizon Europe funded project DesirMED (Demonstration and mainstreaming of nature-based Solutions for Climate Resilient transformation in the Mediterranean) kicked off in Venice last week and CMMI was represented by Senior Associate Scientist Maria Hadjimichael! In the framework of the European Mission on Climate Adaptation, DesirMED will focus during the next five years on developing regional adaptation and resilience strategies, prioritising Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) into regional transformative adaptation pathways. CMMI joins the Cyprus Energy Agency in working with local and national authorities to explore how NBS can be incorporated into the country's climate adaptation plans, to facilitate an increased climate resilience for coastal communities. At TASC, we've assisted the Inter-ministerial Administration and the Ministry of Environmental Protection to develop a comprehensive report for Climate Change Adaptation, aimed at anticipating climate change impacts.
