I am excited to be speaking tomorrow at the Learning & Development Africa Conference 2024, hosted in Nairobi, Kenya. Although I will be presenting virtually, I look forward to discussing the pivotal role of Learning & Development in advancing the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Specifically, I will delve into Aspiration 1 (mainly 3 and 4), focusing on inclusive growth and sustainable development in Africa. My presentation will spotlight the significance of AI literacy in enhancing learning and skills development for the future of work. With AI reshaping job landscapes, reskilling and upskilling have become imperative. Drawing insights from conferences like the Cafe AI dialogue and recent research such as Donald H Taylor and Egle Vinauskaite's report on AI in L&D, I aim to explore how AI can be leveraged effectively in the African context. Moreover, I am looking at perspectives from African thought leaders like Microsoft Africa President Lillian Barnard on Governing AI in Africa for a more holistic picture on the African perspective. These discussions are crucial as we seek to harness AI responsibly for African development. I hope to use my platform Khetrazz Learning to share more of these learnings in an engaging manner in the near future. I look forward to engaging in meaningful dialogue on navigating AI's impact on Learning & Development as we work together to create actionable solutions for a prosperous Africa.
