Did you know that the Eastern Plains Landscape (EPL) has over 50 native tree species, serving as vital nectar sources for Mondulkiri wild honey bees? This discovery highlights the region's rich biodiversity and the essential role these trees play in local ecosystems. This is, according to the WWF, to support the hive of wild bees. https://smpl.is/92fwv

How to protect native pollinator biodiversity? 1. Rating and ranking of the top pollinator magnet plants of the world. 2. Designing the best plant community in your garden or forest, to provide uniform supply of food to the pollinator biodiversity, throughout the year. 3. Designing the best ecosystem diversity in the landscape to maximise habitat diversity. 4. Stop using insecticides in the environment.

Supporting Costa Rica’s Rich Biodiversity! In the heart of Costa Rica, sustainable teak plantations do more than grow valuable timber; they nurture and support the country’s rich biodiversity. Teak trees can be vital components of our ecosystem, offering habitats for a beautifully diverse range of species. Costa Rica’s unique biodiversity, including toucans, jaguars, and various other wildlife, benefits from the forest-like environments created in responsibly managed teak plantations. Here are just a few of Costa Rica’s beautiful wildlife that was spotted on our Teaka plantation.

It's not just about planting more trees. Increasing biodiversity in a forest requires comprehensive assessment and planned interventions. One of the biggest interventions is encouraging indigenous flora. Different plant species provide varying levels of resources for wildlife. For instance, some provide more nectar, others provide shelter, while more still provide better food sources for certain insects or animals. Promoting this diversity contributes significantly to biodiversity. Read other ways of promoting biodiversity in my blog: https://drp.li/APT7Z

BioCarbon, alongside Carbon Plus México, was invited by Juan Felipe from Rancho La Onza to visit their first registered initiative under BioCarbon's Biodiversity Program. Rancho la Onza, named after the jaguarundi, first photographed on the ranch, is located in the Sierra Gorda reserve in Guanajuato, Mexico. This site is crucial for conservation, with camera traps recording key species such as puma, deer, peccaries, bobcats, and foxes. The initiative underscores the importance of preserving biodiversity in vital habitats. For guidance on registering your initiative under the BioCarbon Biodiversity crediting program, please contact vcardozo@biocarbonstandard.com or cmorales@biocarbonstandard.com #BiodiversityConservation #Sustainability #BioCarbon

Flowering Australian natives are more than just beautiful – they're vital for supporting our local ecosystems. These plants offer key resources for pollinating insects, contributing to a healthy and diverse environment. By including them in our landscapes, we not only enjoy their beauty but also aid in the survival of important pollinator species. It's a simple way to help our native biodiversity flourish. #edinburghparks #nativeplants #australiannatives #hardenbergiaviolacea

Tree planting initiatives focused on native species are crucial for restoring lost biodiversity. Native trees, having evolved alongside local wildlife, provide the essential habitats and food sources that native fauna depend on. These trees support complex ecological interactions, fostering a balanced and resilient ecosystem. Additionally, native tree species are well-adapted to local soil, climate, and environmental conditions, ensuring their survival and growth with minimal maintenance. By prioritizing native species in reforestation efforts, we can help rehabilitate degraded landscapes, enhance ecosystem services such as water regulation and carbon sequestration, and preserve the unique biological heritage of our regions.

🌍 International Day for Biodiversity This year's theme, 'Be part of the Plan,' calls on us all to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. Mugie's diverse landscapes—from open savannahs and acacia trees to olive tree forests and the foothills of the Larogi plateau—provide a sanctuary for endangered species like Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, and reticulated giraffes. Our initiatives, such as the Predator Project and the Cheetah and Wild Dog Project, monitor and protect big cats, while our community conservation education programs instill sustainable practices. We've banned single-use plastics, promote wildlife corridors, and employ sustainable beekeeping to protect crops and support local communities. #BiodiversityDay #BePartOfThePlan #Biodiversity #WildlifeProtection #CommunityConservation
