Kiddom is a believer in the power of CREW! Thank you EL Education for putting together such an exciting and immersive national conference. We're having a great time!
Truly an honor, a privilege, and a joy to take part in this experience, which couldn't have been possible without the beautiful, passionate, and sharp EL Education team.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank Open Up Resources for being a great co-partner in this work with EL Education towards helping students become active contributors to building a better world.
On Friday the 13th of December the Chrismas Fair of my two daughers' junior school was held. As my son has completed his primary education from the same school, myself, wife, and son joined with the two daughers for the same.
The event was jam packed with parents, and children. There were so many valuable stalls and interactive games.
Finding the 10 hidden images of the Elf was one of such interactive games we enroled. My son was serious about it. We had to go around the school through the huge crowd to find these. The 3 children easily found the first 5 images. The next 4 were hard and took around 20 minutes. The positions were changed by the organisers tactfully. The final one was absolutely challenging and children were strategic to find it by asking for a hint. On Thursday the 19th of December, I got a call from the school that as a family we won this giant Elf. So, this Elf is also one of our family members now 😀.
It is a simple achievement. But I would like to reflect our experience.
1. The game offered us a simple challenge.
2. It was fun and interactive for our family and fellow families.
3. When the game getting complicated we all pushed ourselves to achieve results.
4. We truly felt the importance of teamworking to reach targets.
5. Communication within the team and external stakeholders was extremely impactful.
6. Strategic thinking plays a vital role to achieve exeptional results.
Similarly, interactive activities such as these can provide fun working environments in which the team working, communication and strategic thinking will help achieve exceptional operational and project results.
With those thoughts, I would like to wish all of my Linkedin connections and your loved ones a Merry Christmas!

To give attendees a taste of what they will hear in my feature presentation on Friday 22 November at #ACHPERVIC24 I thought I would share a fun fact and a teaser from each of the four studies comprising my PhD over the coming weeks. Before examining the assessment practices of Victorian PE teachers I needed to see what valid and/or reliable tools existed in the literature.
Study 1 - Evidence-based assessment tools used in invasion games and sports within a school-age population: A scoping review
Fun fact - Where previous reviews of games' assessment tools have identified four and five tools (or tool groups) respectively (Arias & Castejón, 2012; Barquero-Ruiz et al., 2019), my scoping review located 37 unique assessment tools for use in invasion games.
Teaser - How many were rubrics? Come along and find out

During Day 2 of the 5 days #IDOLChallenge from IDOL Academy, I reflected on how learning takes place by transferring input from working memory to long term memory. The more deeply that we process information within our working memory, the more we store it in our long term memory. 🧠
Gagne's 9 Key Events to Meaningful Learning are a systematic approach to help guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning content. As someone who is drawn to the engagement component of learning, this model stood out the most. 🔑
A learning experience that is successfully processed in working memory travels through all 9 key events: 💼
1. Get Attention
2. Present Objectives
3. Stimulate Recall of Prior Learning
4. Present Stimulus
5. Provide Guidance
6. Elicit Performance
7. Provide Feedback
8. Assess Performance
9. Retention and Transfer 👣
This short YouTube video reviews the 9 events:

Why Are Extracurricular Activities Important?
Extracurricular activities are the fun things kids do outside of school. Like playing sports, learning music, or joining clubs. But they aren’t just fun—they help children grow in many ways.
When kids do activities like these, they learn to work with others, stay focused, and get better at solving problems. It helps them feel more confident too. And these skills are useful for everything, even for their future jobs!
Let’s help children find what they love and grow stronger through these activities.
