Has marketing become boring? 🤔 Lately, I've been pondering if marketers secretly find their jobs mundane. It seems like marketing has shifted towards operational tasks and execution, focusing on generating leads, nurturing them, and driving sales. But does this routine truly fulfill us? My suspicions were confirmed at MadFest this year during a thought-provoking presentation by Katie Evans, CMO of Burger King, and Simon Gregory from BBH. The session, titled "Are you bored yet? Surviving in a sea of Sameness," delved into BBH's 'Zig Index' to uncover brand similarities. The packed room and the queue to get in reinforced my belief that marketers are craving a change from the monotony of execution.
