This Welsh Charities Week, we want to highlight the amazing work of our charity of the year: Calon Hearts! The charity’s mission includes promoting heart health, teaching valuable CPR and first aid skills, ensuring communities have access to defibrillators and are trained in how to use them, and providing free heart screenings for young people. The charity’s ‘Hearts of Gold’ appeal is taking place this November and December, with gold hearts symbolising the lives of those special to us. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ecsZxA4H

Home Instead West Norfolk takes to the skies for Home Instead Charities!🪂 Our West Norfolk team here at Home Instead is soaring to new heights – literally! They're gearing up for a charity skydive to raise funds to combat loneliness amongst older adults in our communities. Did you know that loneliness can have a significant impact on health and well-being? At Home Instead, we envision a world where older adults can continue to play an active and inclusive role in society. Through thoughtful social activities and companionship, we aim to empower them to live happy, healthy, and connected lives. That's why we're taking the plunge (safely, of course!) to raise vital funds for Home Instead charities. All donations will go towards initiatives that bring joy, connection, and emotional well-being to older adults across the UK, helping to prevent loneliness and isolation. We'd be incredibly grateful for your support! Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference in the lives of older adults. The decline in charitable giving — what many call the "generosity crisis" — has nonprofits of all sizes feeling concerned. Charities need to stand out from the crowd and demonstrate credibility to donors. Charity Navigator's beacons can help organizations do this. Watch this video to learn how: https://bit.ly/3SK16RL

The Fundraising Regulator, Charity Commission for England and Wales, and Action Fraud have joined forces to remind people how to give with confidence over the festive period. Christmas is a time when people across the UK are more likely to donate to charity than at any other time of the year. However, donors must remain vigilant. Last year, there were 484 reports of charity-related fraud and cyber-crime, resulting in a total loss of £1,177,773. Those behind these cyber attacks take advantage of public generosity by creating fake appeal websites, sending email appeals that falsely use the names of genuine charities, and launching appeals from fake charities. To help you give safely this Christmas, the regulators have provided simple steps for safer giving:
The festive season is a time of great kindness and generosity. Spread the joy and give to causes close to your heart this December.🎄❤️ Find a charity using our register to donate with confidence: https://lnkd.in/eb_VdcAw #SaferGiving #12DaysOfChristmasGiving
