🚗 From Permit Period to Onboarding 💼 Yesterday, my oldest son earned his driving permit. That same day at work we hosted a lunch with our newest team member. This is one of my favorite NEC onboarding traditions. It had me thinking just as the permit phase lays the groundwork for safe driving habits, the onboarding process sets the stage for success in the workplace. During the permit period, teens learn the rules of the road, gain confidence, and gradually take on more responsibility behind the wheel. Similarly, during onboarding, new employees familiarize themselves with company culture, policies, and procedures, while progressively assuming greater autonomy and accountability. Navigating the permit phase requires patience, clear guidance, and ongoing support to ensure the teen driver's development. Likewise, effective onboarding demands consistent mentorship, open communication, and a nurturing environment to foster the new employee's growth. Ultimately, whether it's earning a driver's license or integrating into a new role, successful outcomes hinge on trust, empowerment, and a collaborative journey toward proficiency. Come join our team and ramp up. https://lnkd.in/dg3zafze I can't guarantee that NEC will teach your teen to drive but I can guarantee that NEC will be here to support your challenges and celebrate your successes! #LeadershipDevelopment #OnboardingSuccess #DrivingPerformance

September Employee Spotlight: Jordan Debevoise!! This month, we’re highlighting Jordan, the Desktop Technician Manager at Brite. In his role, Jordan leads the team responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. One of his favorite moments on the job is seeing the look of relief and excitement on someone’s face when their once-broken computer is back up and running, allowing them to return to their important work. Jordan finds the most rewarding part of his job is watching his team grow. Whether it’s gaining confidence, improving technical knowledge, or honing their troubleshooting skills, Jordan's goal is always to set his team up for success and see that growth come to fruition. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys spending time with his wife and one-year-old son. When he’s not with them, he loves to read, hike to swimming holes, golf (even if he’s not the best), catch movies, or simply relax outdoors with a good glass of wine. A guiding principle for Jordan is focusing on what he can control, a lesson he learned early in life. He’s particularly inspired by the Stoic philosophy of Marcus Aurelius: “You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” This mindset helps him maintain balance and avoid unnecessary stress. Jordan’s advice for those starting out in the IT field is to pursue entry-level certifications to build a solid foundation. Having made a career switch from food and wine to IT himself, Jordan believes this is a great way to confirm your interest in the industry while laying the groundwork for continued growth.
