Even more true when doing a startup where the expectations often are that you should work 60-80 hours a week. It is so hard, but so important to keep what really matters in the world top of mind always. Your health, your family and nature. And the only reason health goes first is because it's your biggest responsibility towards your family. Joy, play, nature and family are all part of startup success. And like health, a loving family and being active in nature can be used as enablers to build a really good business for the long run. And let's never forget how important it is to recognize the true values in life when we are building our products. We make a gazillion micro decisions every day that shapes our products. Let's make products that we are proud of in the long run. 🌳 #StartupLife #ChooseHealthAndFamily #HealthAsEnabler
“I was so driven by justifying my existence in the world that I forgot to play.” At 80 years old, the inspiring Gabor Maté reflects on how he’d live his life, if he could do it all over again. Have a lovely weekend everyone! Remember to be a little bit more like Winnie the Pooh.
This video is such a touching and important message. It never gets old being reminded of what is most important 💚
We often don't hear this enough. In Industry, long hours are celebrated as a cultural badge of honour.
Love Gabor Maté..could listen to him for days

7moSeeing our product as somehow a validation of ourselves is a unconscious belief that is easy to fall into. Taking that to then mean that if it does not succeed, we are "less". No wonder it drives the "grind" approach. It is good to hear that famous people become more wise but it's too late. To make a shift mid journey with healthy habits as you say Kim H. is the kind of role modelling we need right now. If I may, I'd suggest that when we can nail our productivity i.e., a daily plan that incorporates health, partner, family or friends, our Mission as well as our hobby then we see that if we are to "make it" every moment must be unapologetically accounted for. When we do, we thrive. 😎 Great post Kim H.
