Did you know that the historic battleship New Jersey is currently in dry dock for maintenance at the Philadelphia shipyard? This mighty vessel, which once ruled the seas with its sheer power and prowess, is now undergoing some much-needed TLC to ensure it remains a symbol of engineering excellence for generations to come. The USS New Jersey, affectionately known as "Big J," was a force to be reckoned with during its active service days. Commissioned in 1943, this majestic battleship played a crucial role in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and even the Cold War. With a length of over 887 feet and a displacement of 45,000 tons, the sheer size and firepower of the New Jersey were unmatched. One of the most impressive aspects of the USS New Jersey was its ammunition capacity. This battleship was capable of carrying and launching projectiles that weighed up to 2,700 pounds, delivering devastating blows to enemy targets from miles away. The sheer destructive force of these projectiles was unparalleled, making the USS New Jersey a formidable adversary on the high seas. While most of the sailors who once walked the decks of the USS New Jersey have long since passed, the legacy of this legendary battleship lives on. Its presence in dry dock serves as a reminder of the incredible feats of engineering and military might that were achieved during its operational days. The battleship New Jersey stands as a testament to the power and capabilities of the United States Navy, showcasing the ingenuity and innovation that went into building such a formidable warship. #EngineeringExcellence The USS New Jersey may be getting some maintenance work done, but its legacy will continue to inspire awe and admiration for years to come. ⚓️ #battleship #navalhistory #PhiladelphiaShipyard #ussnewjersey #drydock #maintenance #engineeringpower #navy #americanmilitary #warship #mightyvessel #historyinmotion #veterans #usnavy #pentagon #military https://lnkd.in/esRjPRih

The work doesn’t stop after you plant your flag. Yesterday, I planted my flag in Southern California. But planting a flag isn’t about staking a claim—it’s about making a commitment to act. For me, that means: • Serving as a National Guard pilot. I’m actively seeking points of contact at the 729th Airlift Squadron, 115th Airlift Squadron, and 130th Rescue Squadron to take the next step in my journey. • Tackling California’s housing crisis. This state deserves real solutions, and I’m committed to creating affordable housing projects that strengthen communities. Planting a flag is the first move. Taking bold steps is what comes next. What bold action are you taking this week?

The birth of a Chinook helicopter is one of the most beautiful things.
Anytime. Anywhere. We joke that if you want something destroyed in 24 hours - call the Marine Corps. But in reality - if you want something ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD in 24 hours, call the Air Force. Specifically Air Mobility Command. And the thing that truly separates America from the rest of the world? We can deploy mobile Burger Kings. Take that, World. 🇺🇸 Stay caffeinated. The CADWing StarGazer has been designed to conceal an operator’s heat signature while operating in observation posts, support weapon locations, or sniper hides, ensuring enhanced stealth and minimizing the risk of detection. Its weatherproof construction and concealed rifle ports also provide overhead protection in trenches and foxholes, while enabling soldiers and marines to conduct personal administration tasks on the move, such as cooking, which would otherwise generate a large heat signature.
