Do players really want to make their own games? UGC is becoming even more of a hot topic recently. I'm pretty sure they'll always be a number of players who will love to create their own content (like I used to using Worldcraft back in the day). Yet, here's the thing. Going all in on UGC, especially using AI, is not what the world needs from publishers and studios more than we need games made by experienced professionals who know a thing or two about player joy. We do need both, though not one at the expense of the other. The finite mindset from execs vs infinite mindset is really starting to hurt this industry, and I hope a game comes along soon that disrupts it all, in a good way. I'm optimistic it will.
