Kingsgate has been helping the NHS to change and improve for around two decades now. During that time, we’ve seen a wide range of challenges across finances, ways of working and organisational culture. And while the circumstances always vary, we pride ourselves on being able to identify and fix the problem. Ultimately, it’s about enabling NHS Trusts and local systems to increase their productivity by being more efficient. When done well, this will improve healthcare and patient outcomes too – the definition of higher-value services. #NHS #productivity

Kingsgate has now been helping the NHS to change and improve for almost 20 years. Our Chair @Stve Swayne was the one of the very first financial recovery specialists from the private sector to be asked by the then Labour Government to support the NHS. Since then, we’ve supported dozens of healthcare organisations. And while the circumstances always vary, we’re proud to have delivered lasting results. Ultimately, it’s about enabling Trusts and local systems to be more efficient. When done well, this improves services and patient outcomes too – the definition of higher-value. #NHS #productivity #transformation

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the Mastercall Healthcare ‘Pathfinder/ATT’ 24/7 service supporting NWAS Paramedic crews in Stockport and Trafford with Alternatives to conveyances to A&E. ‘Call before you Convey’ Services, as it has recently been redubbed by NHS England's ‘Care Coordination’ guidance, highlight the importance of conveyance and dispatch avoidance schemes to improve patient outcomes, release ambulance resources and improve hospital flow. With an average 88-90% alternative outcome rating, in 2017 Mastercall/NWAS also took the service one step further to train care homes in when to avoid using 999 direct support to a clinician advice line (under the NWAS Pathfinder algorithm). Again, in 2020 this scheme developed further to take 999 CAS direct visiting requests to further aid community care and admissions avoidance. Our ‘alternative outcome ratings’ for this triple pathway service remain at the 90th percentile. With over 1000cases per month, c880cases receive alternative care. Cases are triaged within 20mins, releasing the crew to a pressing emergency; a GP or AP visits within 2hrs as/if needed. Moreover, as a social enterprise provider the service has only ever been part funded. With NHSE focusing on care coordination, we must remind ourselves of the service models that are reliable, tested and efficiently resourced (with capacity to expand) and consider standardising offerings like this in all localities were possible. #CallBeforeYouConvey #UrgentCareInnovation #CareCoordination #HospitalFlow #PatientOutcomes #AdmissionsAvoidance #UrgentCareTransformation #EmergencyResponseInnovation

The Ministerial Advisory Group’s NHS Wales Accountability Review brings forward essential recommendations to enhance governance, accountability, and leadership across NHS Wales. The seven primary recommendations are as follows: 1. Develop a National Vision and Strategy (Page 19): The review calls for an overarching 10-year national health strategy with clear priorities. This will guide NHS bodies and help set meaningful expectations across all levels. 2. Simplify Governance Structures (Pages 20-21): NHS Wales' complex landscape needs streamlining. The report suggests reducing non-statutory bodies and refining the governance framework to eliminate duplication and improve clarity. 3. Increase Transparency and Accountability (Pages 21-22): Each Health Board should have clear annual accountabilities linked to national priorities. Recommendations include earlier interventions and possibly an independent commissioner to resolve disputes. 4. Foster a Culture of Support and Improvement (Page 22): A shift from a "blame" culture to one that encourages early, supportive interventions and compassionate leadership will build a more resilient and effective NHS. 5. Hold Annual Public Accountability Reviews (Pages 22-23): To increase public trust, annual reviews should be conducted publicly, allowing the public to engage directly in the performance and accountability of NHS Wales. 6. Invest in Leadership Development (Pages 23-24): A high-performing NHS Wales needs strong leadership at every level. Training, mentoring, and support will empower leaders and foster sustainable quality and innovation in care. 7. Prioritise Patient and Public Involvement (Page 24): NHS Wales should co-produce services with patients and the public, creating a more transparent dialogue that drives improvements and meets community needs. Each recommendation aims to build a future-ready NHS Wales that is transparent, accountable, and aligned with the needs of those that engage with it. The NHS is struggling. With some patients waiting over 18 weeks for an appointment and limited capacity to deliver services, tackling the elective care backlog takes a lot of work. That's where we come in. We partner with NHS trusts to deliver services when they would otherwise be idle (typically weekends). This means we help increase capacity sustainably, ensuring patients are seen sooner and improving NHS productivity and efficiency. 🏥 #electivecare #nhstrusts #patientcare #nhsinsourcing

🚑 The Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, NHS Providers and NHS Confederation have released a report outlining a new vision for NHS ambulance services. This transformational vision is also applicable to other EMS and ambulance systems worldwide, including Australia! The report highlights the strategic role ambulance services can play in coordinating and delivering urgent and emergency care. By investing in the workforce, infrastructure, and digital innovation, ambulance services can address inefficiencies and align with NHS England's recovery plans. The proposed model emphasises high-quality, integrated care that keeps patients out of the hospital when unnecessary and focuses on prevention and reducing health inequalities. For a detailed insight into the future of urgent and emergency care provision and the pivotal role of ambulance services, read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gY4GXWpU #NHS #AmbulanceServices #EmergencyCare #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCare
