Sobering numbers, on replacement, from Mitchell Institute on Vietnam War losses from the USA when (essentially) fighting Russian SAMs and MiGs. That is the Hueys. Total losses were about 11,000 aircraft, or a shade less than 1,000 per year. Our idiot think tanks need to ponder one simple fact. China ramped production of automobiles from around 20M per annum (a shade less than 2x US production) to over 30M in less than two years. I don't think our strategic planners are much chop. I will go further, just to make my opinion clear. I think they are complete F888ing morons.

Kaga was a shit aircraft carrier. It was the second large aircraft carrier that Japan had - but it was constructed and designed at a time when no one knew what form a carrier would look like. (Akagi was worse). But they were among the world's first answer to what a heavy carrier would look like (there would be light carriers and escort carriers). And it was a functional but suboptimal design. It also hit Pearl Harbour, Ceylon - but UK, Australia and the US seem not to care that the name was recycled. The latter because they sank the Kaga at the Battle of Midway. Should Japan name it Kaga? Probably a little insensitive. But this is what I don't understand - there were many more carriers with better track records - Shokaku for example, was part of the battlegroup that sank the carriers Lexington, The Hornet and HMS Hermes. Also what is with countries recycling names of ships that were defeated? Kaga is named after a province, Akagi after a mountain, Shokaku and Zuikaku after cranes. With so many to choose from - they could have chosen better. Just saying.

“The company said production will slow in the coming months but that it aims to return to rolling out five a month by the end of the year. Boeing delivered 13 787s this year through March. Jet manufacturing was among the sectors more severely affected by sanctions imposed on Russia, a big player in the global aerospace supply chain. Boeing cut ties with a major Russian titanium supplier with which it had launched a joint venture to develop key airplane parts. The company also has halted selling spare parts and maintenance services to Russian airlines that operate its jets. The 787 holdup comes as Boeing is delivering roughly one-third as many 737 MAX jets as it was at the end of last year as the company works out manufacturing issues following January's Alaska Airlines door-plug blowout.” #aviation #sanctions #russia #supplyChains #titanium #avionics https://lnkd.in/g8RKnzx9

- **American F-35 vs. Chinese J-20 First Encounter**: For the first time, U.S. F-35 stealth fighters encountered Chinese J-20 stealth fighters over the East China Sea in March, in what was described as a "professional" interaction, allowing the U.S. to gather intelligence on China's growing stealth fleet (00:05, 01:22). - **Stealth Aviation Overview**: The U.S. operates the largest fleet of stealth aircraft, including over 450 F-35s and 150-186 F-22s, while China is second with 150 J-20s. Russia lags behind with only 16 Su-57s, most of which are prototypes (02:25, 04:24). - **J-20's Capabilities and Limitations**: China's J-20 is less stealthy than the U.S.'s F-35 and F-22, with ongoing struggles in developing a fifth-generation engine, relying on Russian engines instead. Its role was originally designed more for strikes than air superiority (06:06, 08:18). - **Command and Control Observations**: U.S. officials were impressed by China's improving command and control of the J-20 fleet, noting that while it's still early, China is gaining experience in operating these fighters (07:44, 17:56). - **The Growing Stealth Fighter Race**: Though the U.S. maintains a technological advantage in stealth aviation, China is rapidly improving its J-20 program, incorporating new capabilities such as advanced missiles and integration with airborne early warning systems (17:23).

Do you recall those pesky so called “weather ballon’s” flying over US sovereign territory? Seem the PRC has a plan to fly these “balloons” over territories of “interest” to them. The excerpt below taken from The Maritime Executive article titled “China's Gray-Zone Provocations: Time to Reciprocate” Late last year, China started sending balloons over Taiwan; by mid-February 2024, some 26 had overflown at similar altitudes to airliners. In January, China announced it would unilaterally move eastward a mutually agreed civil aircraft flight corridor in the Taiwan Strait. This means Chinese civil aircraft making even minor diversions for weather conditions are now likely to intrude into Taiwan’s ADIZ. Read the full article at: https://lnkd.in/eN3mQAV9

Welcome to the Peoples Republic Of ChiAmeristan This should make more sense now after my previous posts. More than 10,000 Boeing airplanes currently fly throughout the world with parts and assemblies built in China. Boeing Tianjin Composites Co. Ltd, located in Tianjin, is a joint venture with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). Beijing Boeing. That MacDonald Douglas Sale back in under the Clinton Administration making more sense now? Boeing had just purchased them. Who was your Vice President during the Clinton Administration? Good ole Joe Biden who just got up and lied to the entire country and promoted the very things that have brought judgement upon the nation. Everything they touch rots like a corpse in the moon day sun. And they want you to sacrifice your children in battlefields for them? To hell with them. And where the republicans? They played Ahab to the democrats Jezebel. But many made a lot of money. How about those #Boeing aircraft now? You are Beijing’s bitch. You were sold out by your own government and companies. So there you go. Plan where your next Capitol will be if you aren’t willing to clean out and up this one. As for people so too for the nation. < Success story in Korea > This project was for the localization of cables for durability testing of KT-X fighters ordered by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) in 2020. To achieve the highest level of precision in fighter durability testing, Taihan concentrated its know-how and R&D capabilities it has accumulated over a long period of time, and finally, succeeded in developing and mass-producing cables with the conductor deviation reduced from 5% to 2% or less compared to the existing products. This project has a significant value in that high-performance precision cables, which had been available only through imports, were able to be produced independently with Korean domestic technology. 📢 For more infomation : https://lnkd.in/gf2b85nx #Taihan #Hoban #Hobangroup #Success_story #Korea

🇨🇳🚀🚁⚓️A carrier strike group’s ability to counter a coordinated swarm attack of drones and anti-ship missiles, such as #China’s YJ-12B, relies on a multi-layered defense strategy using advanced sensors, missile systems, and electronic warfare capabilities. The YJ-12B, which China claims can fly at Mach 3 and has a range of 500km, presents a serious threat as part of its #maritime #strategy, especially in scenarios involving blockades or anti-access/area denial operations in the #Pacific. Defending against such an attack begins with early detection from airborne early warning systems, like the E-2D Hawkeye, which provide critical time for the fleet to react. Aegis-equipped destroyers play a key role in tracking and intercepting incoming missiles using systems like the SM-6 missile, designed to engage high-speed targets at various distances. At closer ranges, carrier strike groups rely on close-in weapon systems like the Phalanx or SeaRAM to neutralize missiles or drones. These systems use rapid-fire rounds or short-range interceptors to defend against threats that break through outer layers. Electronic warfare also comes into play, aiming to disrupt the guidance systems of incoming missiles and drones by jamming or spoofing their sensors. The carrier and its escort ships are protected by point defense systems like the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile, designed for last-resort interception. However, the main challenge is the sheer volume of missiles and drones in a swarm attack, which can overwhelm defensive measures. The success of a carrier strike group in such a scenario depends heavily on coordination, redundancy, and swift responses to minimize the threat. Given the capabilities of weapons like the YJ-12B, which significantly shorten reaction times, a carrier strike group must rely on integrated systems that can respond quickly and efficiently. The development of these high-speed, long-range missiles by #China underscores the evolving threat to traditional naval forces and their ability to project power in contested waters.
The Chinese PLA wants the world to know its anti-ship missiles mean business. A YJ-12B cruise missile is in full display as it hits a moving ship in this video. As tensions continue to rise in the Pacific this missile, which China claims can fly at Mach 3 and go 500km, will no doubt be part of any blockade busting plan.
