For a leading real estate player, this is a good beginning on setting its #sustainability agenda. But a housing construction company with a rich legacy can definitely set more granular targets related to water conservation, reducing soil erosion & air pollution, recycling of construction waste and making green buildings. #Benchmarking #GoalSetting #RealEstate
A start is always inertia-curtailed and as mentioned, a good beginning. Materiality exercise and peers benchmarking would have highlighted the need to look at aspects like green buildings, sustainable sourcing and address the inherent human rights risks with labour... Given their footprint would have been good to see social ambitions including awareness and empowering the families in their properties...
Would be interesting to see the after impact and implementation report in quantitative numbers.
Responsible Real Estate continues to be a great opportunity. Will watch this space for innovation in materials and engagement with value chains.
very well presented. Thanks.

4moAs rightly highlighted in the post, real estate company can and should set more granular targets related to water conservation, reducing soil erosion, air pollution and more important, recycling of construction waste and green buildings. Sustainability is, therefore, crucial in real estate. Setting a sustainability agenda is a good start for real estate players. These efforts not only benefit the environment but also align with consumer preferences and financial benefits
