Many people asked me if a chicken can lay two or more eggs in a single day. The truth is, it's impossible! A hen's reproductive cycle lasts about 24-26 hours, meaning she can only produce and lay one egg per day. Check out this for a detailed breakdown of the egg-laying cycle!

Though perhaps at times well-meaning, efforts to suppress population & environmental awareness from reproductive discourse has done enormous damage by preventing the cultivation of a sense of reproductive responsibility. Systemic gaps and enduring inequalities often render pregnant women and their children invisible in policymaking, which falls short of the biblical vision for community flourishing. Scripture consistently calls for care of marginalized women and children, reflecting God’s special concern for them. Dr. Emilie Cunningham highlights that her advocacy in maternal health is an extension of her faith, a way to practice her beliefs and connect her values to her actions. This faith-driven commitment challenges us to consider who is left out of our systems of care today and how they can be brought back in. By honoring maternal health, we respect the dignity of mothers and children and foster healthy communities. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eu-5FsKp

JDES fun- 673-The #Rat problem in NYC and the proposed solution https://lnkd.in/gAkDhPR7 in the 673 posts of JDES I have talked about the rat menace 7 times (including this!) wow These were on the subjects of rat menace in my home/office, rats eating bridges, the global rat problem, facial recognition to kill rats, rat on a plane and of course what do rats think about. New York city is the world capital of rats. ‘Now, New York is betting that new innovations in rat control will finally reign in the problem. It’s leaning on evidence-based approaches and a philosophy of integrated pest management (meaning the use of multiple methods to address the underlying conditions that enable rats to thrive) to tackle the issue. Among them are rat birth control, the containerization of waste, and a public education campaign called the Rat Pack, which includes the rat walk of the rat czar (there's one!) with citizens.’ (incidentally we found after a lot of trial and error, that onion soaked in ghee, is very attractive bait at home. Works all the time. In office the snake sound contraption (use it out of office hours)) Can you even believe how many research papers I could locate in Shodhganga on rats? 20109 to be exact! That’s because they are used extensively in medical research perhaps. I think we should think positively about them as they have really contributed to our welfare. Also they made us laugh from Mickey days to Ratatouille (2007) We have much to thank these critters.

As the population we care for gets older (and hopefully us too), understanding the frailty of these individuals is helpful for numerous reasons. We can often recognize frailty but are we using frailty scales in our practice? 🎩 tip to the authors. https://lnkd.in/d9dq5fWW
