ICYMI, click below to listen to Dana Kantor’s discussion with Freightwaves Drive Time host Grace Sharkey 🚛🤖💙 Sharkey! Topics include: · Recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of truck drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week- and all year ‘round. · Treating carriers and drivers like customers. · Ensuring clear communication and resolving issues, such as detention, proactively. · Prioritizes carrier satisfaction by fostering positive working relationships and treating drivers fairly. · Women in logistics (hint: we need more!) Our favorite quotes from Dana: 1. “You catch more bees with honey.” 2. “We’re here to create a surprise-free environment for our customers.” 3. “Treat people the way you want to be treated.” 4. “Take care of them, lead with understanding and kindness.” 5. “When you have a conversation and try to get as much information ahead of time as possible…At the end of the day that is quite literally our job. The driver doesn't need us if we aren't doing those things.” And lastly… Grace: “Let's say you were a driver, and you were to go out there and take a driving position, what type of trailer do you think you would haul?” Dana: “I think the best position on the road for me would have to be a trailer jockey at a drop facility, because no one would actually want me to be on the open road. Otherwise, a sprinter. I'll just be in the minivan.” Tune into Freightwaves Drive Time every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-6 PM EDTon Road Dog Trucking Ch. 146 on SiriusXM! https://lnkd.in/g4q6isQf

Fun and Ironic realisation I had while listening to a podcast today. How many of our transport sector/road sector officials are even riding on two wheelers to their offices. Very few or mostly none actually. Most of them are probably coming to offices in cars and therein lies the reason for so much policy disconnect between what an average two wheeler rider wants versus what he/she gets. Think- Why do you think two wheeler riders stand under flyovers or bridges when it rains? Or does a concept of shade exist for riders to protect them from the summer heat? Why are so many of our roads pot hole riddled and why are most people ok with it? Our Policy makers are so disconnected from the very spaces they legislate on that they then need sensitisation to understand absolute fundamentals. In the meantime, lives are lost, money is spent and we all move on. #mondaymusings #walkthetalk #disconnect

Many trucking companies invest in aerodynamic trucks and high-tech specs, but fail to see the fuel savings they expect. Why? As Henry Albert, President of Albert Transport, explains, it’s not about the equipment alone—it’s how you use it. Henry recently visited a fleet aiming to improve fuel efficiency. Despite having top-tier trucks, drivers were pulling their fifth wheels all the way back, creating massive air gaps and causing their trucks to run inefficiently. Plus, trucks were left idling with air conditioners and refrigerators running, further wasting fuel. The lesson? You can have the best tools, but without understanding how to use them, you’re leaving money on the table. To learn more about optimizing your setups, tune into this episode of Freight Nation: A Trucking Podcast, where Henry and Kevin Rutherford, owner of LetsTruck, join host Brent Hutto. Trucking is such a multifaceted industry with a lot of depth to explore. For example, the logistics of transportation involve not just driving from point A to point B but also considerations like route planning, load optimization, and dealing with unexpected challenges like traffic or weather. The lifestyle of truckers is also fascinating. They often spend long hours on the road, sometimes away from home for days or weeks at a time. This can lead to a unique sense of community among truckers, as they often rely on each other for support and camaraderie on the road. #cdldrivers #truckerslife #keepontrucking #nowhiring #joinourteam #semitruckdrivers #cdladrivers #truckdrivers #hiringtruckdrivers #truckrentals #hiringnow #owneroperators #truckingtips #truckerslife #joinourteam #owneroperators
