*Learn about the real india from rapido drivers* Me - “So how much does this electric scooter cost, You must be saving a lot on petrol” Driver - “Arey nhi sir, ye saare electric scooters kharab hai” Me- “Saare electric scooters, Kyun?” Driver - “There was a small issue with charging my scooter so I went to the service shop in HSR layout." "They redirected me to a shop in Whitefield, even they could not help, so I called the showroom and even they could not help”. ”Ultimately I had to find a way to fix it myself, it was just a minor issue, So I was able to fix it, Imagine the condition if something major had happened”. Me -” Hmm, so getting an electric scooter was a mistake ?” Driver - ”Well initially everything was good for like three months, we were saving a lot on petrol. But slowly we started experiencing problems, issues in battery, issues in charging ". “I would suggest anyone to buy an ICE scooter because the costs of servicing, and changing batteries are very high and you will spend more on them than buying an ICE”. Me- "Wow alright" The biggest opportunity right now is to solve the servicing issues in the EV industry, building out reliable infra for helping out with issues in battery and servicing is of the highest importance at the moment. #india #ev #ola

Recently at New Delhi Railway station, my Uber ride was canceled due to difficulty in finding a common pick-up point with the assigned driver, leaving me uncertain if the cab had even arrived. In contrast, Ola (an Indian cab aggregator), seamlessly addressed this issue within their product design. Knowing how tough India addresses could possibly be, Ola's solution exemplifies expert market-centric product design by offering designated pick-up points such as 'SBI ATM' and 'Peepal Tree'. A stellar example of catering to the unique needs of the Indian market! 🚖🇮🇳 #productdesign #marketadaptation Ola #OlaInnovation

Companion Before riding in a car on all these swanky highways/expressways, when roads were just roads, where there was no bike/car when even Volvo Bus Tickets were beyond reach, this was my travel companion to the interiors of the state. Have experienced the rides on various roadways: 1. Himachal Roadways: careful driving in hilly areas. 2. Haryana Roadways: carefree drivers who didn't know that brakes existed. 3. UP Roadways: a crash course in Hindi language. 4. Rajasthan Roadways: talking all about business. 5. Punjab Roadways: assi, tussi, lassi with folk songs. 6. Asiad 2x2: As if there is no tomorrow. The weather didn't matter much, be it scorching summers, relentless rains, or chilly winters, every journey was all about the experience while sharing laughter with strangers. There were no smartphones, only a few had a mobile phone. The driver would play its playlist and everyone used to enjoy it. How times have changed, now we travel in flights, Vande Bharat trains, luxury AC buses or AC cabs, hooked onto smartphones, consuming so-called "enriching" knowledge on OTT. We have reached this phase, where a small sound seems like a noise, people around us seem like the crowd and we find solace within ourselves. Many people who have experienced this, keep on ranting that Kids today will not understand the struggle, but sadly they will never experience it because we have become so much protective for our kids, we want to give them comfort which we didn't have in our time and we are also spoilt for choices. Some have even segregated the transport modes as level of class. I am glad to travel with my companion from time to time. #journey #travel #life #companion #generation #change

Ashok Shastry Rahm Shastry DriveU Abhay kumar I had a terrible experience with one of your DriveU Plus drivers. 1. The driver at first was extremely impolite and expressed his concerns when told that he is required for 8 hours. Either its DriveU's responsibility to convey that to the driver regarding the time he is required for or he should check with DriveU when he was alloted the ride. 2. He was hesitant to speak in any other language apart from Kannada and when I told him that I can speak either in Hindi or English, he said that one should learn Kannada if they are in Karnataka and using resources of Karnataka. 3. He took the keys when I asked him to cancel the ride and I had to snatch the keys from him. Request you to take immediate action and blacklist such drivers so that others dont face this inconvinience. The Karnataka government recently announced a new uniform fare structure for all taxis in the state, including app-based services like Ola and Uber as well as regular city taxis. As per the new structure, taxis are categorized into 3 classes based on vehicle cost. For cars under Rs 10 lakh, the minimum fare is Rs 100 for 4 km and Rs 24 per extra km. For cars Rs 10-15 lakh, it is Rs 115 for 4 km and Rs 28 per extra km. And for cars above Rs 15 lakh, the minimum fare is Rs 130 for 4 km and Rs 32 per extra km. An important aspect is that surge pricing by aggregators like Ola and Uber has been eliminated. Fares will be same for all taxis now. Passengers get 5 mins waiting free, after which Rs 1 per minute is charged. Night time fares (12am-6am) can be 10% higher. GST and toll charges can be collected from passengers. Luggage up to 120kg is free after which Rs 7 is charged for every extra 30kg. While taxi unions have welcomed the move, some passengers feel the fixed fares now are too high compared to earlier. For example, a 4 km ride used to cost Rs 75 earlier but now costs Rs 100 fixed. The transport department says the new structure aims to remove inconsistencies and address complaints from both drivers and passengers. The previous fare structure from 2021 had different slabs for Ola/Uber and city taxis. Small cars had a minimum Rs 75 for 4 km while luxury cars were at Rs 150 for 4 km. For non-app taxis, AC taxis had a Rs 100 minimum fare for 4 km. The move is seen as a step towards transparency and fairness in the taxi industry Relatable Entertaining Post ❌ Relatable Informative Post ✅ 🚀 We Post Daily Informative Content, On a mission ➡️ Check Bio @povbharat . . . #taxireforms #cabfares #karnataka #bengaluru #newrules #government #uniformfares #india #povbharat #olataxi #ubercabs #cabregulations #taxi #transportnews #karnatakanews #indiatransport #taxipricing #olauberfar #cabpolicy #publictransport #commute #bengalurutraffic #bengalurulife #bengaluru

Back in the day, catching a taxi in India often meant standing on the street, hoping one would pass by or making multiple calls to local operators. It was unpredictable and time-consuming. Then came Ola, changing the way we think about getting around. Founded in 2010, Ola tapped into a simple yet powerful idea: what if booking a cab was as easy as tapping a button on your phone? With that, Ola transformed the industry. By 2020, they were serving over 150 million customers in 150+ cities, making traditional taxi services look outdated. People loved the convenience knowing the price upfront, tracking their ride, and paying seamlessly. Fast forward to 2024, and Ola continues to dominate, capturing around 60% of the ride-hailing market in India. This story is a perfect example of value migration in action. As customers moved towards convenience and transparency, value shifted from old-school taxi services to this tech-driven model. Ola’s success proves that businesses that adapt to what customers truly want can not only survive but thrive and lead the market. #Day9 #Valuemigration #OLA #BhavishAggarwal #Cabs #Taxi

Navigating Pune: My Switch from Traditional Cabs to GrEl 🚗 During my recent trip to Pune, India, I had the chance to use the new EV cab service called GrEl, along with the more established Ola and Uber. The difference in my experiences with these services was quite striking. Initially, I relied on Ola and Uber for my rides, but I faced long wait times for ride confirmations and frequent last-minute cancellations by drivers. With Ola, there were unexpected charges; for instance, the app initially showed a fare of around 45 INR, but I ended up being charged 270 INR for a trip of less than 2 km, partly because the driver took a wrong route and needed directions from me. In contrast, my experience with GrEl was exceptional! They have a fixed fare system with no surcharges, a zero cancellation policy, and their cabs come equipped with safety features. The drivers were polite and greeted me with a pleasant "Jai Hind". The cabs were clean and always punctual. From a pricing perspective, GrEl's fares were either competitive with or lower than the other services. Plus, it felt great to know that I was reducing my environmental footprint by choosing an electric vehicle. After this experience, GrEl is undoubtedly my preferred choice for cab services in Pune.
