Meaningful biomarkers for retinal vein occlusion (RVO) severity can be established using an artificial intelligence (AI) software that draws out measurable attributes from intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA) images and baseline clinical characteristics — such as blood-retinal barrier (BRB) permeability, say investigators of a study published in the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology (Canadian Ophthalmological Society).
