“Educate. Advocate. Act Now” Kling Biotherapeutics is proud to support World AMR Awareness Week (#WAAW) from 18-24 November. Contributing to 5 million deaths every year, antimicrobial resistance (#AMR) is a global health crisis with many socioeconomic consequences. This worldwide campaign aims to raise awareness and understanding of AMR, alongside promoting best practices among the public, OneHealth stakeholders, and policymakers, to reduce the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. At #Kling, our clinically validated B cell immortalization technology has been successful in the discovery of the fully human Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) neutralizing antibody #Nirsevimab that prevents RSV in infants and children under 24 months. By following an ‘effective antibody first’ discovery approach, Kling’s platform enables the discovery of relevant, completely novel antigen targets to help battle illnesses including cancer and #infectiousdiseases. AMR is invisible, but its victims are not! Let’s encourage one another to share our experiences of AMR and learn about its impact, to promote urgent global action. #WorldAMRAwarenessWeek #AntimicrobialResistance #drugdiscovery #drugdevelopment #Antimicrobial #AMRsurvivors

Protecting immunocompromised patients starts with precise viral detection. The JCV/BKV PCR Kit by Sacace Biotechnologies Srl provides quantitative detection of JC and BK viruses, critical for monitoring viral load in immunosuppressed patients. JC Virus is a known cause of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), particularly affecting those with compromised immune systems, while BK Virus can lead to BK nephropathy in renal transplant patients, potentially impacting graft survival. With 50 tests per kit and a sensitivity level reaching 5 x 10² copies/ml, this CE-marked kit supports early identification and ongoing monitoring, helping clinicians make informed decisions to better manage patient health. #QuantitativePCR #TransplantCare #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalDevices #Diagnostics #BabirusEgypt

It’s World AMR Awareness Week! Drug-resistant infections take an enormous toll on public health, human life and the economy. Early detection is not just about improving outcomes; it's about preventing the misuse of antimicrobials. Both over treatment and delayed treatment are major contributors to antimicrobial misuse, accelerating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). At Inflammatix, we’re joining the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the global movement to tackle AMR by advancing rapid, AI-driven diagnostics for acute infections and sepsis. Together, we can combat AMR by ensuring antimicrobial are used only when necessary. https://shorturl.at/MGsD8 #WAAW #AMR #sepsis #diagnostics #HealthcareInnovation

Did you know that over 65 million people around the world are still dealing with the aftereffects of COVID-19, known as Long COVID? Many of these people are experiencing ongoing heart issues like chest pain and heart palpitations. This condition, called PASC-CVS, is more common than you might think! If you’re a healthcare professional, a researcher, or just someone interested in COVID-19’s long-term effects, you might be interested in attending our upcoming webinar on the role of chronic inflammation in cardiovascular symptoms in Long COVID patients. The webinar will be given by 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁, an Associate Professor at The University of Queensland. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 : ☑ Kirsty will explain how long-term inflammation plays a crucial role in these enduring symptoms, especially for those suffering more than a year after the initial infection. ☑ Learn about the cross-sectional study from Australia, looking at blood samples from people who recovered from COVID-19, those with ongoing heart issues, and those who never had COVID-19. ☑ Kirsty will reveal how trace amounts of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-12, IL-1β, MCP-1, and IL-6) in the blood of those with PASC-CVS are affecting heart cells. ☑ Learn about how dexamethasone might help and explore new diagnostic tools using nanotechnology. ☑ Get insights from plasma proteomics demonstrating further differences between PASC-CVS and Recovered patients. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of chronic heart symptoms in Long COVID and the new approaches researchers use to study these issues. ➡ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: https://lnkd.in/dzZdHQiS #COVID19 #PASC #Heartdisease #Inflammation #Nanotechnology #Virus #SARSCoV2

Are micro-elimination strategies the solution to improved liver patient care?
Despite notable advancements in access and treatment options, few countries are on track to achieve the World Health Organization target of eliminating viral #hepatitis by 2030. Challenges such as lack of awareness, stigma and discrimination, limited funding, and political commitment, impede access to testing and care. In low and middle-income countries, liver diseases pose a significant public health challenge. The Asia-Pacific region alone makes up 63% of global liver disease deaths, with viral hepatitis and #livercancer cancer, predominantly HCC, being major contributors. Amidst high prevalence rates, limited access to healthcare services, and inadequate resources, are micro-elimination strategies the solution to improved liver patient care?
