Brief story behind this picture. In 2015, I was a young Undergraduate taking a course in Photo journalism. Got all the required gadgets and all, portable camera, midget (I know, we could just use our phones, right?) Hey, we were journalists, plus it was required and I wanted to pass the course, So… Fast forward to the ‘years project’, the lecturer said the class of 25 students ( this number is actually intriguing for a public university but that’s story for another day)- “Go to the inauguration ceremony and take as many pictures as possible”. Easy right? Well… Just a handful of us went, and when we got to TBS, we sat down on the bleachers, just observing and taking unnecessarily wide shots. That wasn’t doing us any good. So we said to ourselves, since we have our press ID, let’s go down and take the real deal. That was my first experience with media real time. This has been in my archives and it’s so painful I lost the one with Buhari’s swearing in, the one that I had to climb over someone’s shoulder to take 🥲. This however, I had to run round the stadium to capture (I was young, I had the strength 😂) and push a few people to get a good shot Anyhoos, it was my first exposure to handling a camera properly even though it was to take pictures and I look back at this memory fondly. Oh! By the way, I almost failed still because the lecturer was convinced that I stole this from a news outlet or website, so I guess I did good 😁 #firstphotograh #photography #media #photojournalism #journalism #election

🙋♂️ As videographers, we've all been there... 🤦♂️ Here are the top 5 challenges we face when preparing for a shoot: 1. Limited budget: Clients want top-notch quality, but with a tiny budget 🤣. It's like, "How do you want me to deliver diamond quality with peanut budget?" 🤷♂️ 2. Tight deadlines: "It's urgent, we need it yesterday!" 🕒. Calm down, my friend! Rushing leads to mistakes, and you won't like the outcome 🙅♂️ 3. Equipment malfunction: Camera acting up, Lens not connecting, SD card forgotten... 🤦♂️ It's like the ground should swallow me!🤣 4. It's important to remember that everything you say, and do on the #internet is #recorded, even if you deleted it. With that, I want to let you know I am #openforbusiness - Well I always have been but with some #big and #positive #changes on the very near horizon I really am open for biz in all new sorts of ways. I photograph #events with compelling #eventphotography, #stockphotography, #sportsphotography, #photojournalism, #concertphotography, and I'm a #writer and #journalist, #havecamerawilltravel #havecomputerwilltype I am really trying to lean heavy into the the #photography side of things going forward as I've got a good mix of photography, #journalism, and #music gigs right now, but my goal really is to get those photo gigs up and running even more. All in all, this means I need to find more #jobs and #capital in the next few months, and beyond of course. I know I've asked for your help before, but with the news received this last weekend now more than ever, I could really use your help to get my name out to more people than I can reach myself.
