The National Football League (NFL) is embracing an innovation called "Next Generation Stats," according to Known magazine. The innovation involves a computer chip mounted on a player's shoulder pads that captures the speed and acceleration data of each player in real time during a game. The introduction of this technology is seen as a major boon to player evaluation, as it provides more accurate and comprehensive information. Traditionally, player evaluation has relied on coaches watching videotape, studying scouting reports and statistics. However, these methods can have limitations and do not provide a comprehensive picture of a player's performance in a game. With the introduction of computer chip technology, analysts can more accurately assess the performance of each player, not just limited to the star players who hold the ball. The key to this technology is real-time and comprehensive. By capturing data in real time, analysts can get accurate information while the game is in progress, rather than having to wait until afterward to review footage. Moreover, the data doesn't just focus on players with the ball, but covers the performance of all players, even those who may be away from the ball. This comprehensive approach to data collection provides coaches and team management with a more holistic view, helping them to better understand player contributions and the dynamics of the game. Overall, the introduction of this technology marks the NFL's continued exploration and application of data and technology. Through more accurate, real-time data collection and analysis, the NFL can better understand the dynamics of the game and make more informed decisions to improve the quality of the game and player performance. Data can be used in many ways but rarely it is being used to generate insights. Data can be stubborn—it won’t reveal its secrets easily. Sometimes, we need to apply a little pressure, explore every "nook and cranny" and coax out the truth. Whether it’s cleaning messy datasets, wrangling with outliers, or fine-tuning models, persistence pays off. The more we delve into the data, the clearer its story becomes. So, embrace the challenge, ask the tough questions, and let the data confess its hidden patterns. #dataanalysis #data #bigdata #insights

Let’s face it data is like the superhero of the business world, cape and all! It swoops in, crunches numbers, and gives you the power to see what’s coming before it even happens. Imagine you’ve got a crystal ball, but instead of magic, it’s powered by data. Suddenly, you know what your customers are dreaming about, what trends are about to explode, and where the next big opportunity is hiding. That’s the magic of data it’s like having a backstage pass to the future. Data doesn’t just sit around collecting dust; it’s busy identifying market gaps, uncovering hidden needs, and shouting, “Hey, here’s your next big idea!” Whether it’s creating the next must-have product or giving your services a turbo boost, data is the secret sauce that makes it all happen. Innovation isn’t just about lightbulb moments; it’s about using data to make those ideas come to life. With data on your side, you’re not just keeping up you’re leading the charge. So, next time you’re thinking about how to stay ahead of the game, remember: data is your sidekick, your guide, and your golden ticket to innovation. #datamind #datatalks #data #analytics #datascience

Day 53 of 60 of Deliberate Discomfort Challenge With data I have always loved pulling novel insights out of unique datasets. I think it is easy to get excited about datasets with distinctive data points. Recently though, I have been trying to focus more on asking nuanced questions of existing or already known datasets. What can I find that no one else has found in a seemingly mundane dataset? The ability to see a bigger picture and pull deep insights out of data that has been looked over by many others is something I strive for. #ddchallenge
