🧑🏫 Teaching is a journey marked by countless unforgettable moments, but few are as vivid as the first lesson. It’s a time filled with excitement, nerves, and the hope of igniting curiosity in young minds. In this post, our tutors share their cherished memories of that inaugural class. Thank you, Carolina Acosta Delgado, Tubagus Adam Mahendra Anggawijaya, Francesca Claudia Padalino, Piotr Kamiński, and Aybüke Canım for helping our students create and grow, we can't thank you enough 💙

Who knew that rallying classmates for group projects and reminding everyone about deadlines would come with such accolades? 😄 Being a class rep has been a wild ride filled with countless messages, last-minute meeting arrangements, and, of course, the joy of trying to get 30+ students to agree on anything (spoiler: it's impossible). 😭💀 My skills in diplomacy, negotiation, and creative problem-solving have definitely been put to the test! Some highlights from this journey include: •Convincing professors to give us extensions (because life happens, right?). •Organizing class events that everyone actually enjoyed (or so they said). •Acting as the unofficial class therapist, cheerleader, and sometimes even the wake-up call for those 8 AM lectures. A big shout-out to my incredible classmates for their trust and patience, and to our amazing professors for their guidance and support. This certificate is as much yours as it is mine. 🌟 Here's to more laughs and more learning , Onward and upward! 🚀

Hi Everyone! Today is Day 1 of the 7-day Curiosity Challenge. Today’s Challenge is “Dare to Connect.” Curiosity is not only the antidote to the polarization that plagues our country; it is also a valuable workforce skill. 💡 A 2023 Deloitte report found that the vast majority of managers believe curiosity is a "very valuable" trait in employees. (https://lnkd.in/eFQ5Y3s6) However, we have a long way to go in fostering curiosity in the workplace. 💡 According to a survey of 3,000 employees conducted by Francesca Gino of the Harvard Business School, only 24% reported feeling curious in their jobs on a regular basis and 70% said they face barriers to asking more questions at work. (https://lnkd.in/e3CMhS8B) Curiosity is a muscle that grows stronger when you exercise it. If you're not already signed up, you can still register for the Curiosity Challenge and get started on strengthening your curiosity. And if you want to follow along with as I participate in the Challenge, you can do so on Inspired Teaching’s Instagram (@inspiredteaching)! Join the Curiosity Challenge: https://lnkd.in/eqim32YK

The best thing about teaching a new-to-me class is the opportunity to acquire yet more fascinating trivia to share at the numerous dinner parties to which I am invited (n≈2 per year, average). Here is one particularly fine example: in a roomful of people, what is the probability that at least two of them share the same birthday? It turns out that if you have at least 23 people in the room, the probability will be at least 50%. 🥂
