@Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku In today's PR production class led by Mr.Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, I learned that public relations (PR) is the process of disseminating information about an individual or corporation to the public, particularly the media, through various channels such as magazines, flyers, and posters. Its purposes are to broadcast key company news or events, maintain a brand image, boost brand visibility, manage crises, and support business objectives. In doing so, one must consider internal and external investors, the media, including influencers, and understand their needs and expectations of your target audience. Finally, I learned about Situation Analysis, which entails examining internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats that affect organizational success and public relations initiatives. From a journalist wannabe to a seasoned marketing communicator. 🌟When I was kid, I dreamed of being a journalist as I love reading newspapers and I was always interested in current events. I was closer to my childhood dream when I graduated with a degree in Journalism from a university in Manila. But competiton for the jobs seemed to be tough. I instead started my first job as a PR writer for the public affairs division of a government agency. Due to a limited growth opportunities, I quit my job and tried my luck in a corporate setting as a communication assistant. I realized that I wanted to do something more than being a newswriter, as I acquire new skills in graphic design, events management and internal communications. I gradually developed my interest for marketing communication and I always wanted to transition to a marketing role. At the core of my new found interest is my passion for sharing stories and information. I might not have pursued journalism as a career but I found new ways to communicate through data storytelling, branding, digital marketing, and social media. An unexpected pivot… After several job changes and learning journeys in different industries, I finally landed a marketing role as a social media manager in 2020. My evolution as a communicator had a surprising twist in 2023 as I transitioned to a marketing role in a life science company - a totally different industry. This twist led me to unlocking another skill: running virtual live events and operating our mini-studio in our Singapore office. (as seen in the photo). It might be a different platform but the years of interest and experience as a communicator enabled me to integrate the elements of storytelling in these events. I am grateful to where my childhood dream has led me. I might not have ended up as a journalist but my love for storytelling just continue to grow day by day. If you are passionate marketer and communicator like me, let’s connect and share our insights and life lessons. ❓What was your childhood dream job? Did you manage to fulfill it, or have you experienced an unexpected twist? Would love to hear your comments below. ☺️ #dreamcareer #careerdevelopment

This might seem like an odd way to announce that I'm leaving the Trust this winter, but I honestly love that I was able to give my team something like a 3-month notice and work to set up a smooth transition between major projects and events. I've known for a while that this position and I were no longer the best fit, but it took me a few months to accept the reality of that because it's a good job and a good team and I'm good at it (and it's hard to let go of that security). I've grown as a professional more than I thought possible over the last two years, but when I took a week off this summer to be at home and reset after a busy spring, I realized that I simply wasn't excited to continue growing in the direction the Trust would need me to in the next few years, and that it would eventually become a disservice to both me and my team to stay when I was resistant to that growth. This organization is growing in some amazing ways, and it needs a Communications Manager who is not just willing, but EXCITED to take the reins and steer our messaging strategies into digital marketing spaces, tackle a pretty vast variety of content creation, and adapt our stories to reach new audiences. If that's you, please take my job. It's a big job with a lot of responsibilities, but I've already got a strategic comms plan for the next 14 months drafted for you, as well as a color-coded spreadsheet full of helpful links, processes, and ideas. Here's the link to apply: https://lnkd.in/e2iCxcrk If that's not you, please share this opportunity with someone who might love to take it on. Like I said, it's a good job with a good team, and they do seriously good work. ** Jessica Cocciolone, CFRE, MBA, thank you for hiring me back in 2022, for coaching me through all of that stretching growth and giving me honest feedback when I needed it, and for supporting me in my decision to leave. The Trust is beyond lucky to have your leadership.

Help us adapt Shenandoah National Park’s story for different audiences, features, and platforms and develop/implement internal and external communications for the organization to ensure that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the Trust's identity, mission, and impact. This position collaborates cross-departmentally to create inspiring, story-driven content that engages stakeholders and drives higher levels of donor and community engagement. Your work will make a lasting impact as you help shape the future of Shenandoah National Park. Ever thought Public Relations was just about damage control? Think again. Diving into the world of PR is like setting sail on a vast ocean; there's so much more beyond the surface! 🌊 When people hear "PR," they often think crisis management; in reality, that's just one wave in the ocean of possibilities. My internship at Mint & Milk PR has shown me the true depth of this field and revealed its true potential. It’s not just about telling a story; it's about making sure it's heard, understood, and embraced by the right people. 📣 PR isn't just about being reactive in the midst of a storm; it's about being proactive and cultivating relationships with the audience, building media and influencer interactions, and curating memorable events. It entails keeping brands engaged in an ongoing conversation with their audience and creating connections that run deep. 💬 During my journey with Mint & Milk PR , these were my three biggest learnings: ➡ Listening: Effective communication starts with truly understanding - Understand and then be understood👂 ➡ Strategic Navigation: Every campaign is like a voyage. Tailor your approach to fit the unique landscape of each brand 🗺️ ➡ The power of collaboration : A successful journey requires a supportive team; working together amplifies creativity and effectiveness in achieving goals 🤝 "PR is a mix of journalism, psychology, and lawyering; it's an ever-changing and always interesting landscape" - Ronn Torossian #publicrelations #PR #communication #listening #strategic #collaboration

As an Individual passionate about PR and looking to build a career In Public Relations, I attended The PRSK Monthly Virtual Townhall and Mark Masai who is the Director of Public Relations at PMS Group Limited had an opportunity to speak. Under Reflections with Mark, he was able to share his journey and transition from being a journalist to being a PR Practitioner. He divided his talk into two and shared what he thought PR was and what he has actually come to realize PR actually is. WAS: 1. Media Relations 2. Securing Interviews 3. Getting a story on air 4. Telling a story on behalf of a client WHAT IT IS: 1. It is about Relationship and Trust. He mentioned that there is a lot of Interpersonal Interactions needed and you will also not assume that everyone will allow you into their spaces. It definitely requires patience 2. A message and activities choreographed carefully to the desired outcome of the client 3. The Client is not always right. Help them see and understand your perspective for the sake of your brand. 4. Politics in the co operate world hits differently 5. In PR world, don't you dare work as a Silo i.e. isolating yourself from the team 6. It is okay to admit you don't know and ask for help from team especially when it comes to strategy. Mark Masai Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK)

Hi everyone! I'm starting a 30-day writing challenge today. To kick things off, I want to talk about one of the most memorable projects I've worked on. I had the opportunity to be a PR Account for Ford Viet Nam and be involved in the "Live the Ranger Life" event. It was an incredible experience that opened up many learning opportunities for me. Being part of a team that brought the #LivetheRangerLife event to life and create unforgettable memories for attendees was truly rewarding. This event was not only a significant milestone in my career but also a testament to the fact that I am living the Ranger lifestyle - strong, resillent, and always ready to embrace new challenges. ➡ So, what makes Ford especially the Ranger, so popular? Here are five key factors: 1️⃣ User-generated content: Ford encourages customers to share their Ranger experience, creating a powerful word-of-mouth effect. 2️⃣ Clear market positioning: Ford has a clear understanding of its target audience - those seeking a tough, reliable truck for both work and play. 3️⃣ Superior product: The Ranger is a truly exceptional vehicle, offering durability, versatility, and a host of userful features. 4️⃣ "Ranger for Her" campaigns: Beyond the successful "Live the Ranger Life" campaign, Ford has demonstrated its creative prowess through various PR initiatives, notably "Ranger for Her". These initiatives have played a pivotal role in building a strong brand identity and fostering deeper connections with consumers. 5️⃣ Engaging PR events: Event like "Live the Ranger Life" provide unforgettable experiences that strengthen the brand's connection with consumers. Over the next 30 days, I'll be sharing more exciting stories and valuable insight. Join me as we explore the vibrant world of marketing and communications! ➡️ What marketing or communications topic are you most interested in learning about?
