Exciting developments in India's semiconductor sector! The approval of investments worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore (14 billion dollars) by the Cabinet signals a promising future for the industry. With careful execution, this move has the potential to significantly boost the Indian economy by a quarter trillion within the next decade. Gujarat is positioned to emerge as India's semiconductor hub, with Tata Electronics and Taiwan's PSMC expected to set up a new plant in Dholera, estimated at 9 billion dollars upon completion. The joint venture between Tatas and the Assam government to establish a fabs factory in Assam not only promises industrial growth but also foster a value chain in the Northeast region. However, global chip manufacturing market leader TSMC remains absent from India. I hope companies like Intel and Samsung, already invested in India, will consider manufacturing chips domestically. Similarly, Nvidia's leadership in AI chips presents an opportunity for deeper investment beyond design center and offshoring. Additionally, AMD's expertise in efficient smaller chip manufacturing makes them a compelling candidate for making in India. As for ASML of Netherlands, the sole company with the technology to make chip-making machines, their investment in India would be a significant win for the country's semiconductor ecosystem. Exciting times lie ahead, and I'm eager to witness the transformative impact of these developments on India's technological landscape. #Semiconductor #TechInvestment #IndiaGrowth #india2047

Moving out of the world traditional approach of sourcing to fab manufacturing Giant leap for India Semiconductor Mission3 Fab! 🇮🇳💻 A groundbreaking partnership between Tata Group and Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) to establish India's inaugural semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat. This marks a significant leap forward in India's technological journey. 🌟 💰 Estimated Investment: Rs 91,000 Crore 🏭 Fab Capacity: 50,000 Wafers Per Month This strategic initiative isn't just about manufacturing chips; it's about shaping India's digital destiny. With segments spanning electric vehicles, telecom, defence, automotive, consumer electronics, display, and power electronics, our fab will power a diverse array of industries, driving India's digital transformation forward. 📈💡 But that's not all! 🌐 In addition to the Dholera project, the Cabinet's green light on Tata Semiconductor Assembly Test's semiconductor assembly and testing unit in Assam, with a substantial investment of Rs 27,000 Crore, reflects the government's visionary approach to decentralizing semiconductor capabilities across the nation. 🌏🔬 Why do TATA(塔塔)companies choose Dholavira as a semiconductor fab location? - Dholera was also an ancient port-city in Gulf of Khambhat - Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a greenfield industrial planned city - the idea of Dholera as the first "Green City in the world” - Dholera is strategically located, well connected with trade gateways and falls in the influence zone of the proposed Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor project (DMIC), a joint initiative by the Government of India and Japan. #SemiconductorRevolution | #MakeInIndia |#TechInnovation |#DigitalIndia #FutureForward | #TataGroup #PowerchipSemiconductor #SemiconductorFab #Dholera #Gujarat #Assam | #Investment |#DigitalTransformation |#TechLeadership | #SemiconductorIndustry | #SemiconductorTechnology #TechManufacturing| #ManufacturingIndustry | #ElectronicDevices #DigitalEconomy #TechInvestment | #InnovationHub |#DigitalInfrastructure #EconomicDevelopment |#JobCreation | #TechPartnerships |#GlobalCollaboration #TechLeadership |#IndustrialDevelopment |#FutureTech |#EmergingTechnologies #InvestmentOpportunity | #TechGrowth | #IndustryLeadership | #TechInnovation #DigitalTransformation #Tech #PSMC | #GreenCity | #JAPAN | #india #shenzhen Prepared by: 潘碧学Abhishek Pathak Image Credit: 潘碧学Abhishek Pathak (Last visit) Image location: #Shenzhen

Drumroll, please! #India has officially entered the semiconductor game! In a historic decision, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the government's endorsement and financial backing for three semiconductor manufacturing projects in India, totaling an impressive investment of Rs 1.26 lakh crore! These fabrication units will strategically dot the landscape of India, spanning Jagiroad in #Assam, as well as Dholera and Sanand in #Gujarat. Let's uncover the thrilling details of how India is gearing up to become a global hub for #semiconductor manufacturing! 🌟 - Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd. & PSMC, which is listed among the top ten semiconductor companies for global revenues. are partnering to build a semiconductor fab in #Dholera, Gujarat. With an investment of INR 91,000 crores (around $11 billion), it will be India's first AI-enabled fab, capable of producing up to 50,000 wafers per month. Utilising advanced factory automation, it aims to achieve next-generation capabilities using data analytics and machine learning. - #Tata is using its own technology to run a second venture at Jagiroad, Assam worth 27000 crores. As rightly pointed out by Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO of Tata Electronics, the strategy of serving across the semiconductor value chain enables Tata Electronics to deliver complete system offerings to customers. He highlights a critical opportunity where global players are drawn towards manufacturing in India due to tremendous customer demand. - The third unit, in #Sanand, Gujarat, will cater to various applications including consumer, industrial, automotive, and power. This project, led by CG Power in partnership with Renesas Electronics Corporation, #Japan, and Stars Microelectronics (Thailand), will have a capacity of 15 million chips per day and involves an investment of INR 7600 crore (about $900 million). But the excitement doesn't stop here – there's more in store for India's chip market! IT Minister of State, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has revealed that another proposal is under consideration. This proposal, from the Israel-based Tower Semiconductors, involves an expected investment of $8 billion for a new plant. As India solidifies its position as a key player, global companies are quick to recognise the immense opportunities within the Indian semiconductor landscape and are eager to seize them. With ongoing developments, India is poised to emerge as the global hub for chip manufacturers, marking just the beginning of a transformative journey in the semiconductor sector.
