Happy National Video Game Day! Video games offer something for everyone, bridging gaps and building communities. However, like many things, dangers also arise. As we immerse ourselves in our favorite games, it's crucial to stay informed about the potential risks in the digital world. Predators often target younger players, especially boys, through popular games and social platforms. Societal norms often discourage boys from expressing emotions openly, making them vulnerable targets who may not share their experiences out of fear or embarrassment. Encourage them to share their emotions with a trusted friend or adult that they know in real life or utilize the Teen Line linked below. Recognizing warning signs such as unusual friend requests or secretive interactions can help safeguard against these dangers. Setting parental controls, monitoring screen time, and discussing online safety practices are crucial steps to protect against inappropriate content and unwanted interactions. As you engage with your kids in their gaming interests, encourage open communication. Invite them to teach you about their favorite games—it's a great way to bond and stay connected. By learning together and fostering a supportive environment, we can all contribute to a safer and more enjoyable gaming experience for everyone. #Educate #Empower #Prevent #PavingTheWay Teen Line Website: https://lght.ly/j775k2k Teen Line Numbers and Hours: Call: 800-852-8336 (6 pm- 10 pm PST) Text: Text "TEEN" to 839863 (6 pm-9 pm PST.) One of my most memorable conversations at #GamesBeatNext (besides my lovely conversation with Leanne during our session :) was with Tami Bhaumik, VP, Civility & Partnerships at #Roblox. We spoke about the brave new world we live in and about teens and what they want. Tami shared this UCLA research with me that brought me lot of joy because it validated everything we believe in and are building at Astrid Entertainment. A few key takeaways: #FantasyOverReality: Fantasy content was the number one thing adolescents want to see. Last year personal life and relatable issues was number one. #FriendshipFocusedStories: 63.5% of adolescents expressed a preference for stories focused on friendships and platonic relationships, solidifying a continued trend towards “nomance” content. #GamersGeneration: For the first time, the study included questions about gaming, providing valuable insights into this key part of adolescent media consumption. Only 12% of adolescents surveyed said they don’t play video games #MoviesArentDead: Despite industry speculation, movies remain teens’ top choice for entertainment. When asked what they would do if time and money were no constraint, going to see a movie in a theater came out on top, far ahead of other activities like sports. Will teens save the movies? Here's what a surprising new study says about youth and Hollywood

I wrote a movie script back in 2000 about how the internet would change society. I wrote the internet would cause people to develop more connection to their personal interests than to town, team, or even country. I was only thinking about adults at the time. I didn’t think children would become more focused on YouTube, Social Media & video games than little league, playing outside & spending time with family. Don’t feel helpless. There are ways to change this, together. #DigitalDetoxForKids #KidsOffDevices #UnplugAndPlay #ChildrenDigitalDetox #LimitScreenTime #TechFreeKids #KidsOffSocialMedia #NoMoreGames #AnxietyFreeKids #HealthyScreenHabits

1000+ early adopters. Communities in movies, moviemaking, music, gaming, sports, photography and storytelling. There's so much more to be done. We're testing and building systems that can scale well with the growth we're expecting. With the current investment climate around startups, it has made us look inward for solutions, to see our users as our primary investors. We want to build a sustainable company that will grow slowly but inevitably. It has taken a lot of introspection over the past six months to figure out what our 'X' factor is. There are so many things that go into making a platform that people feel safe to engage in. Something which is inclusive and where the quality of engagement is high. I apologize to folks in my feed who have to read this everyday 😅 . I've come to realize that every minor achievement needs to be publicized or it's like it never happened. Each post is a beacon to a potential partner who share our vision and can patiently await world domination. #indianstartup #beacnsocial #socialentertainment #gaming #communitybuilding #community #socialnetwork
Prior to our app's launch, we've built an enthusiastic community of over 1,000 users. These early adopters are not just users; they are champions of our service, showcasing a strong belief in our vision and mission. In the few months of running our community management, we have communities in movies, moviemaking, music, gaming, sports, photography and storytelling.

Banning phones will get teens engaged. Spoiler alert: It's not the answer. Instead, use tech to your advantage! Embrace what the players love instead of fighting it. Tired of Teens Too Keen On Their Screens? 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐲 Whatever outdoor activities you plan, teens love their screens! Frustration doesn't even begin to describe it. Instead of fighting the tech, why not make it an advantage? It's tech-based but gets the teens & tweens moving outside. It matches the kiddos' love of games. Like a real-life video game. Try Battlefield Sports' laser tag brand of live-action gaming. It focuses on teamwork. It builds excitement & camaraderie. Games humans want to play - no phones needed. Just like Mark McKinney from Cedar Springs Camp in Washington DC, USA. "The laser tag technology means players can battle anywhere (no more cheesy neon!). All the games in the popular first-person video games are taken to the next level and can be played on our battlefields. At our summer camp, we have a history theme. The campers are immersed in the culture of the battle that they are playing. That's one of the reasons that we get so many rebooking our camp. When the kids were immersed in a story, they had a reason why they were trying to take over this hill. It really engaged them," said Mark. If you struggle to keep teens off their devices, try making tech your ally, not your enemy. Visit the Battlefield Sports website to see the full case study. https://lnkd.in/g_9ZWAUA #CampLife #AdventureParks #TeenEngagement #OutdoorFun #TechAndNature #summercamp #battlefieldsports #lasertag
