What we are reading... Regenerative medicine and advanced therapies, such as stem cell transplants aim to repair, replace, or restore damaged cells, tissues, or organs, offering hope for previously untreatable conditions. However, the development of these therapies relies on a well-educated and trained workforce, which is currently facing shortages in key areas. Stakeholders have identified a need for more lab and manufacturing technicians, data scientists, and other specialized roles in this field. Additionally, there is a lack of education programs at community and technical colleges to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals. Read the full report by GAO by clicking the link below. The ETSU Research Corporation is dedicated to convening STEM education and research in our region, ensuring a skilled workforce for the future of regenerative medicine.
