Why Architects Shouldn't Visualize Projects Themselves: The Case for External 3D Artists Architects are visionaries, but when it comes to translating that vision into compelling visualizations, it's often more effective to collaborate with dedicated 3D artists or to have a specialized team in-house. Here’s why: Time Efficiency: Architects are already balancing a multitude of tasks—designing, planning, client meetings, and more. Outsourcing or assigning visualization tasks to a specialized 3D artist allows architects to focus on core responsibilities, ensuring that the design process is both efficient and innovative. Specialized Expertise: 3D artists are trained specifically in visualization techniques. They have in-depth knowledge of the latest software, rendering engines, and design trends, which enables them to produce photorealistic and highly detailed images that can truly capture the essence of a project. Objectivity: An external 3D artist can offer a fresh perspective. They can visualize a project with an unbiased eye, often catching details or potential issues that might be overlooked by someone who is deeply involved in the design process. Enhanced Client Communication: High-quality visualizations help clients better understand the architect's vision. When 3D artists are involved, the end product is often more polished and easier for clients to grasp, reducing the need for extensive revisions and speeding up project approvals. Cost-Effectiveness: While it might seem like an added expense, utilizing external visualization services can be more cost-effective in the long run. It reduces the need for architects to invest in expensive software, training, and additional time, ultimately leading to faster project turnarounds. By integrating the expertise of 3D artists, architects can elevate their designs and ensure that their projects are communicated as clearly and effectively as possible. Crafting a captivating visual representation involves more than just using software. The ability to express emotions through a 3D rendering is a powerful way to enhance the quality of your client's design. While I don't change my clients' designs, I aim to create an atmosphere and evoke emotions that complement the overall design. To achieve this, I selectively work with clients who are open to sharing ideas. This approach helps build long-lasting and consistent business relationships. #cgi #lifestylerender #coronarender #archviz #design #interiordesign #3dvisualisation #3drender #3dsmax #3d #designer #architecturalvisualisation #3dvisuals #architecturalrender #architects

Through the use of 3D images, an architect can test various design options This could be different layouts, material choices, or completely different schemes. The design options can then be shared and decisions made as to which option best suits their clients needs. Recently we worked with an architect and provided multiple options of a scheme, to aid discussions with their client. In this example the client and the design team had different ideas about a scheme, the client was adamant that they knew exactly how they wanted the project to look, but the architect wanted to show the client there would be some major design issues if they went ahead and built this option. For this project we worked with the architect and modelled the various design options in 3D, illustrating the different versions of the proposed scheme. Only after viewing the 3D images, the client could see the point the architect was trying to make and they came to a compromise on the design. Without the use of CGI the client may have pushed forward with their idea and only found out the flaws in their scheme once it had started to take shape on site, resulting in wasted time, materials and money. Through the use of 3D visualisation, a design team can table several options of a scheme, enabling conversations with their client, knowing that they can fully visualise each of the options. In the case above the CGIs helped the architect and the client have discussions and talk through options before committing to a design that both looked good and met the clients needs. In this case the 3D images were instrumental in the client seeing the point the architect was trying to make, and moved the project forward. Although this did mean additional work in the early design stages, it did speed the project up in the long run, and everyone is now clear and in agreement on the final design. #ArchVis

Running a 3D Design business in a saturated market....... I don’t have a website—just a portfolio. I don’t run massive campaigns or advertisements for my services or post as much as I should on LinkedIn. I also don’t have Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. So, how do I land clients and continue to exist? Well, it’s pretty simple: 1)I have built a network of clients who understand the value of my work, and I know their needs. The expectations set during the first project become a template for the next. 2)I work with other 3D visualisers and support a few large 3D companies with their workload. Again, trust is built here, and expectations are laid out from the start. 3) I continue to refine the process, finding ways to constantly improve the quality of my work while reducing the time it takes to finish a project while building reliability. To survive as a 3D visualiser in a crowded market, focus on building trust and let your work speak for itself. #3d #archviz #cgi #coronarender #architecture #interiordesign #design #cgi #3dvisualisation

Why is 3D visualization important? 🟡 Bringing Ideas to Life: Instead of just imagining what a building might look like from flat blueprints, 3D visuals give both architects and clients a realistic view of the finished project. You get to see the structure from all angles, inside and out, before a single brick is laid. 🟡 Clear Communication: Explaining design concepts can be tricky, especially with clients who aren’t familiar with architectural drawings. But with a 3D model, everyone can easily understand what the final outcome will look like, making discussions and decision-making smoother. 🟡 Spotting Problems Early: Designing in 3D helps you catch potential issues—like awkward layouts or structural clashes—before they become expensive problems during construction. It’s like a safety net for your design. 🟡 Saving Time and Money: Since 3D models give such a clear picture of the project, you can often avoid multiple design revisions and speed up approvals. This means less back-and-forth, fewer surprises, and lower costs overall. 🟡 Immersive Experiences: Clients can virtually walk through their future home or building, experiencing the space as if it were already built. This adds an emotional connection to the design, which is often hard to achieve with 2D drawings. 🟡 Precision in Planning: With 3D models, every detail—from dimensions to materials—is spot-on. This helps you plan everything down to the last detail, reducing the risk of costly mistakes. #write #3dvisualization #home #homeowners #realestate #clients #developers #building #america #house #recruit #hire #modelling #3dsmax #sketchup #corona #images #CGI #trend #linkedin #drawings #built #design #virtual #experience #3D #concept #details #material #everything #blueprint
