I am very much looking forward to moderating the panel discussion on the future of Legal Tech at the LEGAL FORUM EU-EASTERN PARTNERSHIP on May 24 in Warsaw. This is the third time that I am involved in this forum, representing the European Legal Technology Association (ELTA), and in this short time the conference has grown into a platform to unite lawyers from all corners of Europe and beyond. I am especially grateful to Yaroslav Romanchuk and his team for consistently putting legal technology and innovation on the agenda. Making a meaningful prediction about the future is always tricky. You think you have figured it out, and then something unexpected happens - genAI enters the industry or Gartner raises the bar by predicting that the market doubles in three years 😀. But apart from what is happening at the surface (which is important, no doubt), there are undercurrents that are not changing that rapidly. Curious to hear what my fellow panelists, who come from different parts of the legal industry, think about where we are going. #legaltech #futureoflaw

Are you in London this coming week? Are you one of the participants of the London Summer Arbitration School? I can’t wait to meet you! Delighted to be, in my academic capacity, returning to the Swiss-British initiative known as the Arbitration Lab. Led by directors Anna Petrig and Yarik Kryvoi, the London Summer Arbitration School is dedicated to enhance the understanding of international arbitration, increasing practical knowledge in the field, and tackling innovation and developments in arbitration and arbitral proceedings. This year I will be teaching two classes instead of my usual one class. The classes are focused on: 🛰️ Outer Space Arbitration 👩🏻💻 Arbitration in the Digital Economy From physical frontiers in outer space to cyber frontiers in the web3 and AI economy, to new legal frontiers in arbitration, I’m very much looking forward to being in London and engaging with brilliant colleagues in the arbitration sector again. Ping me if you’re coming (or if you’re interested!) #arbitration #arbitrationlab #spacelaw #spaceeconomy #satellites #digitaleconomy #digitaltransformation #web3 #artificialintelligence #ai #law

I'm excited to share a thought-provoking blog post that delves into a significant legal ruling regarding decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). A recent decision highlights how these entities, often deemed decentralized, may not be perceived as such under the law. This ruling raises crucial questions about the structure, governance, and legal implications surrounding DAOs in the ever-evolving landscape of digital innovation. For those navigating the intersection of technology and law, this article provides essential insights. Read more about this landmark case and its potential impact on the DAO community here: https://ift.tt/Q0OxEo3.

Artificial Intelligence has arrived on the computers of arbitration lawyers and arbitrators. Artificial Intelligences promises to make arbitrations significantly more efficient, but Artificial Intelligence applications also entail various challenges. The new Guidelines on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Arbitration by the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center aim to address some of these challenges. My colleague Raika Hoßbach and I have taken a look at the new Guidelines and summarize in our article on Global Arbitration News what we think are the most interesting proposed regulations. https://lnkd.in/eMKaMfcB
