Dreams. I had no idea what these two energetic, amazing ladies were dreaming of when they came into my office many years ago with the desire to buy a duplex. I thought they were simply cashing in on the “house hacking” trend that had taken over young homebuyers often priced out of single family homes. But their vision was so much greater than that. They met overseas and quickly bonded in their desire to serve community by offering housing to vulnerable expectant women. In fact, they were so committed to their vision that they moved their beds into the unfinished attic of their duplex so that they could host two expectant mothers in their bedrooms, and that’s where it all began. Fast forward nine years, and Esther Homes continues to help women overcome hardship by offering housing, a sense of community, and giving them the life skills they needed to thrive on their own. By supporting and walking alongside them through their pregnancy and motherhood journey, they have helped 16 families grow and thrive. When you see real estate through the eyes of these two women, it teaches us that it can be so much more than a financial investment. It’s an investment in a dream.
