The satellite industry is shifting towards smaller, more efficient satellite designs. Emerging players and established giants are embracing this transformative period by investing heavily in nimble and flexible solutions, such as small GEO satellites. Small GEO satellites are cheaper than traditional GEO satellites, providing access to new customers that might not have considered buying into GEO before. Experts expect the upcoming years to be a test period for satellite manufacturers and operators to test different satellite designs before determining the most efficient one. Polytec instruments are used to test how #satellites will perform on launch and in space. But why are satellites and their reliability so important? From GPS to global communications, we rely heavily on man-made satellites. We are all familiar with relying on GPS to get from A to B but we are far more reliant on satellites than most people realise. Some time ago the BBC published an article on what would happen if all satellites failed at once: https://lnkd.in/e3cjEeEA Obviously, we are unlikely to lose all of them at once, but we don’t want any gaps in the network, and of course, launching a satellite only for it to fail is an incredibly expensive mistake. Measuring the vibration of satellites and components with Polytec vibrometers: Light penetrates in a vacuum – and light is the tool of choice if you want to test components for space. Satellite manufacturers want to test their equipment in as close an environment as they can mimic on Earth. Find out more about Polytec and satellites here: https://lnkd.in/eEJmczFB

Anuvu announces NuView-Alpha and NuView-Bravo as Anuvu Constellation prepares for launch Anuvu announces the names of the first two satellites in the Anuvu Constellation, NuView-A and NuView-B. Named to reflect Anuvu’s “new view” of the mobility connectivity market, the NuView duet is a new class of High Throughput Satellite (HTS) that will form a key element in the geostationary orbit layer of the Anuvu network. After many years as the world’s largest lessor of geostationary satellite capacity, Anuvu is set to become a satellite operator with the launch of NuView-A and NuView-B in mid-2024, providing high-performance connectivity over North America and the Caribbean. The duet will deliver 50 gigabits per second of additional bandwidth for the company’s global mobility network. #Space #Satellite #Launch #MobileConnectivity #Connectivity #Bandwidth #HTS https://lnkd.in/eMfJDMcK
