KR Group (Scotland)’s Post

We're back for some #FridayFun with another amusing construction and engineering phrase... ...have you heard of a 'grease nipple'? It's a type of fitting attached to bearings, or other mechanisms that need internal lubrication (ahem!), often in areas that are hard to reach. Within a grease nipple, there is a small ball bearing on a spring, which is compressed when lubricant is pushed through via a grease gun. This acts as a valve to allow grease through, without allowing it to double-back or leak out. Grease nipple's are found in KR Group's forklifts, diggers and cranes. Tune in on 20 September for the last instalment in the series!
