Kris Krüg I immediately think of George Orwell's dystopian classic 1984 in the context what mass surveillance looks like, and the impact of self-censorship that exists in some places already today. Technology is but a tool; ultimately it is how we as a society decide that tool should be used that will determine impact. Narratives can serve as a looking glass that encourages the public to imagine both positive and negative impact of a technology outside of the walls of think-tanks and academia. This in turn will hopefully allow them to press their elected leaders to implement policy that benefits the many, rather than the select few.
