Based in North Carolina, our hearts are heavy with the unprecedented destruction faced by our western counties due to Hurricane Helene. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders, the National Guard, utility teams, and relief personnel, many of the most severely affected areas are still isolated, struggling to access necessities like gas, food, water, electricity, and phone service. The impact has also been felt deeply in Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida where communities have suffered immense damage. Although our facilities were unharmed, it's certain that we all know someone—a colleague, friend, family member, neighbor or client—affected by this tragedy. Confronted with such overwhelming hardship and loss, deciding how best to offer support can be challenging. Yet by coming together in solidarity, we can create positive change. We encourage you to stand with Alcami in contributing to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund to assist our neighbors through their extensive recovery process. Alternatively, if there's a trusted non-profit you're already connected with that provides relief services, consider making a donation directly to them or look into supporting organizations like the American Red Cross or Salvation Army. Let’s keep these communities close to our hearts and do everything within our power to support them as they rebuild. Hurricane Helene is one of the deadliest storms to ever hit the United States, leaving behind hundreds of miles of catastrophic damage and changing lives forever. The American Red Cross has launched a massive response to ensure no one faces this challenging time alone. Across the Southeast, hundreds of people are still missing, and damaged roads and bridges have cut off entire communities, making it difficult to get help to those areas. People need water, food, medicine and medical care. Tens of thousands of homes have been affected and some 1.3 million customers — about 4 million people — are still without power. People affected by Hurricane Helene need urgent help now. You can help by making a financial donation by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) or texting the word HELENE to 90999. Financial donations for Hurricane Helene enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from this disaster.

Hurricane Helene's devastating impact on individuals and communities - within and beyond our team - has reminded us how vital it is to stand together during times of crisis. In partnership with the Red Cross, we are contributing to relief efforts to help those affected by the hurricane’s destruction. A portion of proceeds from every order on our site (https://hubs.ly/Q02Sppzq0) will support the Red Cross’s critical work in providing shelter, meals, and emergency supplies to those in need. The response to Hurricane Helene has been immense. The Red Cross alone has already provided nearly 23,400 overnight shelter stays, served 83,000+ meals and snacks, distributed 3,100+ emergency relief supplies, and deployed 1,400+ responders delivering life-saving services. Additionally, if you donate more than $20 at https://hubs.ly/Q02SpdgQ0 you'll receive 15% off a plant purchase on https://hubs.ly/Q02Sppzq0! This effort is personal to us, as we stand in solidarity with those affected, both in our community and beyond.

The images over the last few weeks from Hurricane Helene and the devastating impacts the storm has had on the communities of Western North Carolina, and the nearby states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia have demonstrated the critical need for communities to support each other in times of crisis. As members of the transportation community, we regularly rise to the occasion when crises occur to our people or to the infrastructure that we maintain so people can go about their daily lives. In this time of great need in these states, we ask that you rise to the occasion again and consider contributing to organizations helping in the recovery and rebuilding of communities in Western North Carolina and all of the states experiencing the devastating events of the last few weeks.
