Let go of formal activities and measured outcomes and do activities that fit into your loved one's daily rhythm instead. Some days will be better than others, but by focusing on things are interested in, you'll find less resistance and more room for connection. What activity would you like to explore with your loved one? Share your thoughts below. #WednesdayWisdom #caregivers #agingwell #homecare #eldercare #montgomeryAL

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a form of dementia, is often seen in older adults and may or may not be progressive. It does not necessarily mean a precursor to full-blown dementia but could suggest that a brain function change has happened. Some common signs of MCI are forgetfulness, lost train of thought, confusion, overwhelm or impulsiveness, irritability, and aggression. If you think your older loved one might be experiencing cognitive change, we can help. Our advisors are Certified Dementia Practitioners, and while we do not diagnose, we can help you create a plan of action. The first Dementia Course with a GUARANTEE! That's right! If you take this course and you use the scripts and techniques, and they don't work for you, or your patient's, residents, or family members, I'll refund your money! Has any other dementia training offered you that kind of GUARANTEE? Why do you think that is? It's 1 of 2 things. Either they don't believe in their program, or they don't believe in you. I believe in both. I not only believe my program works, I know it works because I've used these scripts and taught countless others how to use them. Over and over, it works. And I believe in you. I know you can take these scripts and use them with ease. If you're willing to take my simple, easy to use scripts and apply them, you will succeed. You'll totally amaze yourself. You will become so confident with your new skills it will change your life. I've seen aides with zero training use the scripts, and after the 1st day and get results. I've seen 70 year old house wives taking care of a spouse with Lewy body Dementia hallucinations successfully, and easily use these techniques after the 1st and 2nd day of class. If they can do it, you can do it! I believe in you! It was my mission to create a short, yet effective training for people who don't have months and months to commit to a program, and for those who need solutions today, now! Behaviors, don't wait, they come on in a flash. You need results in a flash. I believe in this program, and I believe in you. You need results and I have your solutions. If you can give me 4 days. I can give you the results you so desperately need. I keep my classes small so we can collaborate together and, I can answer all of your questions. This means that space is limited, VERY limited. Don't wait to invest in your peace of mind. You deserve peace! Life Story books are invaluable tools in dementia care, offering a personalized and engaging approach to connect with individuals experiencing symptoms. These books typically contain a compilation of the person's life history, including significant events, preferences, achievements and cherished memories. For those with dementia symptoms, these books serve as anchors to their identity, providing comfort and familiarity. As memory declines, Life Story Books can act as visual and tactile reminders of one's life journey, fostering a sense of continuity and connection. Caregivers can use these books to spark conversations, trigger memories and create meaningful interactions, enhancing the overall well-being of individuals living with dementia. Communication is key when you’re caring for someone with dementia. We’re not going to lie, it’s very difficult. But it’s doable and no one should feel stressed when they’re in this situation. Here’s a few top tips: 🕊️ Patience is Key: Take it slow, allowing time for responses. 👀 Eye Contact Matters: It conveys your attention and care. 📖 Use Simple Words: Opt for straightforward language and short sentences. 😊 Non-Verbal Cues: Sometimes, a smile or a gentle touch speaks volumes. 🔁 Repeat If Necessary: Patience in repeating information helps ease frustration.
