Let your voice be heard: AI Challenges to Democracy. International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP) is preparing for an online event on Aug 21 https://lnkd.in/gJM-gr-u. ISSIP will aggregate responses and share a summary of findings ... in August with a deeper dive into The Opportunity, and concluding in September with a discussion of Needs and Next Steps." 

The AI Action Summit in France on 11 and 12 February 2025 will be a test of whether the global track of AI safety summits (including those previously held in the UK and South Korea) can provide practical and timely outcomes. I dedicate this post to express my heartfelt thanks to the KYUEM Summit organizers (especially Athena Siow, Sin Liang Lee, and Sara Surayan) for inviting me to an eye-opening panel session with Prof. Chee Seng Chan and Dr. Jun-E Tan. If I were to pick the top three takeaways to share here, they would be: 1. Creating policies and regulations for AI and data that are not located within our country is ineffective. Therefore, it is crucial to have a sovereign AI ecosystem for effective regulation. 2. Developing a comprehensive AI policy requires the involvement of multiple stakeholders, including academia and civil society. 3. While AI adoption helps with improving the quality of life, it should empower human capital, not undermine it. 🤚

🗣️ On the occasion of the 🇪🇺🇺🇸 #TAW2024 organised by Transatlantic Policy Network (TPN), we will host ‘A conversation on #AI and digital policy priorities’ with MEP Axel Voss, Rapporteur on the #AIAct, and Ajit Jaokar, AI Visiting Fellow, University of Oxford and author of our foresight report 'The Digital World towards 2040'. This exchange will bring lots of insights from two experts in the #artificialintelligence field, while also offering a sneak peek into some key findings from our #DigitalWorld2040 foresight exercise. Yesterday in Brussels, after my talk, I shared an idea with a participant How can Porter's five forces apply to product development at an Enterprise for AI services? As the #aiact matures, we will see #LLMs being adapted in the Enterprise But there is no framework to do so. Also, Porter's strategy applies to an industry level (attractiveness or otherwise) - not to a product level at an enterprise. This is an idea I am developing Whatever your view of the #aiact .. we have now gone to the next stage. From an enterprise procurement standpoint, the #AIact is a positive because currently, there is a stalemate i.e. enterprises are fascinated by LLMs but also wary of the risks and unclear of the opportunities for them.
