The Public Service Announcement that was never made public. If you were ever wondering where we went wrong... Remember that maxim, 'The truth is always there, if you look for it? It just tripped over me in social media. A little late perhaps, but then it's (almost) never too late to learn the truth. Unless, of course, the fat lady has already sung. Don't know how much you know about vaccines, particularly the most controversial, or the most common, disastrous side-effect of multiple vaccinations in children, Autism. I've read a bit of the debate and the consensus among those who've done independent research is that too many, too soon, will push very young children over the edge and destroy important areas of the brain. I admit, I have not subsequently encountered, the 'Bio-medical' treatment mentioned in this video , and like the 3 or 4 cures for cancer not-publicized or commercialized, one assumes some suppression by those with Billions to lose, has been involved. But that's just another conspiracy theory with a smoking gun, looking for someone with powder burns on their hands. What's important about this hidden gem on Autism is not just how Autism may be a treatable, and most certainly a preventable plague of modern pharmacology, but how nothing changed over the last 30 years to influence the insanity the pharmaceutical industry just pulled off, first making known treatments illegal and then substituting untested, and possibly known ineffective gene therapy treatments for a questionably novel, 3 strains of flu miraculously carrying the same AIDS spiked protein. Convenience, much. There was and is, more than enough evidence to urge caution in adults becoming guinea pigs for Big Pharma with this plague of enhanced function, but the draconian push to mandate the use of such dangerous, potentially life threatening drugs on children, begs more than a question of a little malpractice. But it's a free country, sometimes, so you must decide for yourself when to risk the lives our your children, before the state does it for you.

Thoughts:   1️⃣ 🚀 Retinal science is rapidly accelerating. From an ARPA-H keynote to next-gen gene editors (using retina in their killer experiments), the pace is staggering. >50 clinical trials in IRDs today. This was unimaginable 5yrs ago. The volume of novel mechanisms, gene targets, and modalities is staggering - so much so that some observers talked about the field getting too large & fragmented. That's squarely in the set of 'good problems to have.' Literally millions of people stand to benefit. 2️⃣ 🤖 AI is everything, everywhere, all at once. At Ascidian Therapeutics and across biotech, AI is unlocking future therapeutics in ways we are only beginning to understand. For people with blinding disorders, AI is not coming soon - it’s here. Patient adoption of smart-phone based AI tools is transforming lives. Next year, I won’t need to announce myself to a patient leader with limited vision. AI-driven wearable sunglasses will tell them I’m approaching, and probably a whole lot more (like reading this post). It’s not sci-fi. It’s just sci. 🕶️   3️⃣ 💡 From Inform to Transform. Patient leadership has long informed drug development: “inform” is becoming “transform.” 💡 It's often said patients are experts in their disease. Nothing is more convincing of that than hearing a retired businessman share the genotype-phenotype relationship of his family's genetically unique retinal disease, uncovered via 10+ years of collaboration with a top academic geneticist. Or having a patient challenge a biotech CSO on choice of virus-like particle vs. AAV for delivering to retinal pigment epithelium. In retina, patient & parent leaders such as Justin Porcano and Bradford Manning are increasingly setting the agenda for sponsors and investigators - with potentially monumental benefit for trial design & execution.   🎁 It's not often enough investors, sponsors, and investigators are convened by patient communities in one setting. I’m already looking forward to next year. #StargardtDisease
