Together with Südwestfalen Agentur GmbH and Wirtschaft und Marketing Soest GmbH, we have designed a new "Südwestfalen truck" for the city of Soest , which now carries the city's message across Germany's roads. Together we designed, planned and realized the visually striking trailer. We are delighted to present Soest with our new trailer - the historic old town, exciting events, sweet career opportunities at KuchenMeister and much more! 🌟 Spotted: A historical treasure from our archives! 🌟 On 17 August 1360, Stadt Köln received a very special privilege: The seal, granted by the Emperor Charles IV, gave us the right to hold trade fairs twice a year - for eight days before; respectively after St John's Day (24 June) and St Martin's Day (11 November). As is always the case on Thursdays, this week we are once again looking back into Koelnmesse’s past. 🕰️💫 This time we’re taking a look at the period between 1934 and 1943 – the darkest chapter in the company’s history. After the National Socialists came to power, Nazis were appointed to management positions at the trade fair organisation. As a result, propaganda events were organised in the Rheinhallen, including the "Braune Messe – Deutsche Woche" ("Brown Trade Fair – German Week"). During the Second World War, the trade fair grounds were misused as a camp for victims of National Socialist persecution. At times, the facilities were used as a subcamp. The founder of Koelnmesse, Konrad Adenauer, was also imprisoned here and was only able to survive due to a great stroke of luck. At this point, we would like to emphasise that whilst we report transparently about the history of Koelnmesse, we explicitly distance ourselves from any extremist and anti-democratic tendencies. As an international company and centre for world trade, we are committed to solidarity, openness and tolerance. 🌟 E-Commerce Berlin Expo 🌟 Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the #eCommerce #EXPO with Mondi Group in #Berlin, and what an event it was! Better late than never to share the excitement gained from this dynamic experience. From innovative solutions to emerging trends and tasty vegan food 🥗, the Expo offered a comprehensive look into the ever-evolving landscape of eCommerce. Here are three reasons why I always look forward to attending trade shows like these: 1️⃣ Stay Ahead of the Curve Well, this is a no brainer - trade shows like the eCommerce EXPO provide an invaluable opportunity to see new trends and check out the current market situation firsthand. Being able to immerse myself in the latest innovations and market dynamics equips me with the knowledge needed to stay competitive in our #packaging #industry. 2️⃣ Forge Meaningful Connections One of the highlights of trade shows is the chance to engage in exchanges with both new and existing customers. You know me, I like to listen and talk. These interactions offer invaluable insights into their perspectives and needs, helping me tailor our #marketing and #sales strategies to better serve them. Your #challenge is our challenge! 3️⃣ Foster Internal Bonding As someone who primarily works from home, the opportunity to share a booth with my colleagues from Corrugated Solutions and MailerBags was particularly special. Trade shows not only facilitate networking with external stakeholders but also provide a platform for internal bonding. Getting to connect with my colleagues face-to-face strengthens our teamwork, fosters collaboration, and reinforces our shared goals and vision. If someone were to ask us, “So, how did CERSAIE go?” What should we say? Perhaps with a bit of bravado, we’d say it went well. It’s almost obligatory, after all — with nearly 100,000 visitors, would we ever dare say we didn’t find anything good? Of course not, especially considering the amount of time, resources, and financial effort our partners put into setting up their booths and all the extra events outside the fair. So yes, it went well, actually very well! But in reality, we measure it after some time, sometimes even after a few years. For example, a visitor who carefully studied a machine might come back later asking for feedback and then disappear. One day, maybe even a long time later, they come back and say, “I’m ready to proceed.” For us, the fair is successful regardless, as it remains a unique opportunity to meet and showcase many solutions that we wouldn’t have the chance to present during regular client visits, or to receive visits from potential clients who would otherwise be difficult to contact! And yes, it’s true, besides our partners’ booths, there’s also plenty of competition at the fair — but that’s another story. Triangle Tyre will exhibit at The Tire Cologne with a 150sqm booth designed to highlight its role in the European tyre market. The prominent stand (see picture) will also feature a 12sqm LED wall to enhance the manufacturer’s impact on the global tyre fair, helping it to stand out amongst the 273 confirmed exhibitor stands confirmed for the event at time of writing. Triangle Tyre is a mainstay of the largest European fair, exhibiting at every event since The Tire Cologne replaced Messe Essen’s biannual Reifen event. Triangle revealed that its booth will showcase brand-new products across the PCR, TBR, and OTR segments, demonstrating Triangle's focus on delivering top-class solutions across all segments. The design of the booth builds on that employed by Triangle at The Tire Cologne 2022. Triangle said the previous booth had drawn “many positive comments from the industry professionals, especially Triangle customers.” As part of its engagement with customers, Triangle Tyre will host an exclusive gala dinner at the prestigious Park-Café in Cologne, offering a unique networking opportunity in a picturesque setting along the Rhine River. The Triangle brand was relaunched in Europe with the opening of its regional headquarters in Italy in 2017. The brand assembled a team of experienced tyre professionals, tasked with increasing volumes distributed across all countries in the continent and strong long-term partnerships with key importers and distributors who are opinion leaders in their respective national markets. Triangle has also upgraded the quality of its product ranges in each segment in recent years. It targets “best-in-class from a price positioning-quality ratio perspective” across segments, while its OTR range is well-established around the world through original equipment supply deals in many markets with leading machinery brands. HANNOVER MESSE is under 200 days away 🤩. The ISED HM25 team has been on 🔥this week as we continue to accelerate preparations with our partners. Here are 3 things we are telling our team consistently: 1️⃣ “I trust you to advance this work” 2️⃣ “What do you need me to do?” 3️⃣ “Let’s schedule time to talk this through” The reasons: ➡️ Trusting teams = high performance teams. Also when we have this many work streams going on we need people to feel empowered to demonstrate leadership at all levels. ➡️ Analysts and managers need to work to become independent as appropriate at their stage of career development. Asking “what do you need me to do” encourages us to lean in when they need help and BACK OFF when they are doing just fine. ➡️ Collaboration and connection lead to better results. (Although apparently we are too loud 😐 sometimes) 💥Shout out to Anthony (Tony) Hahn, MA, mMBA and Corinne Guenette who are on this journey with me.
